IPL
by Manoj Panja on Feb 09, 2011 09:38 PM

IPL is an Indian domestic tournament where BCCI are trying to build players for instant cricket. So seniors are there to guide budding players. If it is so,a succesful Indian captain can share his experiences by paricipating. If that person is not picked up the bidder then there is something somewhere wrong what BCCI can find out.

IF India win WC for Sachin, it doesn't glorify Sachin. To glorify himself, Sachin should win WC for India!

monybeg,
You are right. Sachin will put the centuries in his bag and carry home and it does not go into India's account. :-) (You were rightly reported as abuse).

Shewag,sachin,raina,yuvraaj they all bowls..

Jobless People

What Sourav Ganguly does or the stance that he takes is his personal issue. Why should others lose sleep over it. People are entitled to express their opinions but can't expect Ganguly to act on that. Ganguly has clearly stated that he wants to play and good luck to him. What Bedi or some other idiot thinks is immaterial. Ganguly did not start playing cricket because somebody told him to do so and likewise, he is not likely to give up playing cricket just because some jobless Indians want him to do so. If Ganguly is getting humiliated, then it's his headache and nobody else has the right to judge him.

How come Bedi show up in Rediff!!
by Emporor Ashoka on Feb 09, 2011 07:34 PM  | Hide replies

Bedi is person this generation does not know! But Rediff find someone who can talk against Dada from nowhere! Surprising!

Why not Rediff taking some serious efforts to find the politics behind Eden Garden! That is a current problem!

Dada has to retire! BCCI forced SRK to dump Dada! Pawar is forcing ICC to abandon Eden Garden - only one Stadium in India that has a naturally grown pitch and the one that English ppl love to play in! Instead of repairing that stadium, Pawar is trying to tame Dalmia and kill the spirit of Bangalis!

Thanks to Pawar - no player from Bangal in the team INdia - not in ODIs, not in Tests, not even in 20-20! I do not think Bangal is missing good players!

Pawar has been currupt to the core! He is in power only to steal money from public and transport to secret accounts! His name is not coming in any corruptions! But everybody knows his money is behind all the IPL teams!!

Finally, Pawar is targeting Dada indirectly from all corners!

Ok Pawar is corrupt;
But even after three deadlines cross why the stadium is not read; see the whole ICC report of eden in cricinfo; u will find it does not even had some of the basic things ready;

Eden has already seen light failures in past couple of matches;

Does this bcoz of power; why dont you act and work strongly...

Pawer is corrupt? what about Dalmiya? was he a saint? Good to know that Dalimiya is facing the music now. Let us say it is pay back time. Bengal cricketers? How did your ranji trophy go? any note worthy performers from ranji trophy? oh yeah...put the blame on someone else.

What is Dravid's contribution in Ranji? What is Yuvi's contribution in Ranji?

YES, Ganguly is living not only in the hearts of cricket loving Bengalis but also in the heart of cricket loving Indian all across our nation! He has been an exceptional Captain this nation has ever produced!

Ganguly has not blamed too much against anybody and even though media is after him! His time has not come to retire!!

Pawar gave ultimatum from top not to hire Ganguly! This is reason why he all the teams turned their back to Ganguly! SRK literally executed the master plan from Pawar! Howcome, when everybody dumped and Cochin IPL team tried to hire Ganguly, the BCCI interfered? Initially, BCCI wanted Cochin IPL to take No Objection from all other IPL teams for hiring Ganguly into Cochin Team, then BCCI changed their plan and said: "No, Ganguly cannot be hired" ! Why BCCI is against Dada! Any reason? It is simple: Pawar wanted to tame Dalmia and Ganguly in one shot! Anyway, Pawar has succeed in changing the WC Matches from Eden Garden! Some of other Stadiums are still under repair and not in good shape at all and yet ICC gave clearance to them!!

Do u think I am making stories!! May be only you!!!

@ Ashoka

Dude u living in dreamland or wat? Pawar succeeded in changing WC matches from Eden Garden? Listen just face the reality it was not pawar or ICC it was CAB's fault which costed eden's elimination. Wen thr is a mistake then y dun u ppl start accepting it rather than putting the blame on someone else for ur own nuisances?
n how come dravid n yuvi is related to ranji?
Did u even read wat Cricket wrote? He was talkin abt the recent ranji trophy.
And if Kochi were really interested in Ganguly then y d hell they did not buy him at d auctions? infact they got more than 2 chances to buy him but they did not.
And if u think that it was SRK's master plan to throw Ganguly out of IPL then i'll say SRK is the most powerful person of India. Hahaha u got to be kidding me. Y don't u understand one simple basic thing that Ganguly is out of flavor and out of IPL now shut up and enjoy ur life watching world cup followed by IPL.
No matter how much u shout over here Ganguly not gonna be acquired by any team neither Ganguly gonna pay u anything.

Ur own life is much important than Ganguly so think abt that.

Pawar is corrupt? I think you are the only one who is not convinced that Pawar is corrupt. He is one of the most corrupt, shameless and spineless politicians. He has succeeded in avoiding legal action thanks to our culture of taking and giving bribes.

You need to understand that Ganguly will continue to remain an icon for Bengalis regardless of your take on Ganguly. So any issue that involves Ganguly is bound to evoke some very passionate reactions and i agree that at times they are uncalled for. But then, is there any need for you to contribute your expert opinion?

Ganguly - Still One of the Most Popular Cricketers Around
by rajashi ghosh on Feb 09, 2011 06:58 PM

The fact that the entire country is debating whether Ganguly should continue to play or retire, is a proof that Ganguly is still one of the most discussed cricketers. As the saying goes, you can either love or hate Ganguly, but you can never ignore him. Though, i do agree that Ganguly is brash and arrogant, he has always been able to evoke extreme reactions in people. Either people hate him to the core or they love him immensely, but it is very clear that he has always managed to arouse passionate emotions. Though, he might be remembered as a controversial captain, he will also be occasionally remembered for his genius as a captain.

Dada is the best
by Emporor Ashoka on Feb 09, 2011 06:55 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin did not retire and dravid did not retire. Dada was better than Dravid in batting and still Dada has to retire!!!

What is going on is a Power struggle between Dalmia and Powar! Powar is now intimidating Bangalis and picking Dada for his good relationship with Dalmia!

Powar even succeeded in changing the Venue from Eden Garden! He is doing what Dhoni is doing to some of his team mates who are not willing to say "Dhoni is new Obama" - demolition job!!

Ganguly was doing exceptionally well as a test batsman when he was asked to retire. He should have retired from one-dayers but should not have been forced to retire from test-cricket. His absence has created a void that has not been filled by either Yuvraj or Raina. Both are struggling to cement their place in the test squad.

Ganguly's test average of 42 is an ordinary number in modern era. Let us not overstate Ganguly's achievements. Dravid, Shewag and SRT all average above 50. VVS averages 50 since 2001. Gambhir averages 50 as well. Many top batsmen in different countries averages 50 or close to 50. Ganguly does not have that kind of number. India is #1 in test cricket and they don't miss Ganguly. They don't miss Ganguly in one-days as well. You guys should move on. Ganguly is not relevant any more and he will be relevant when he takes over Bengal Cricket from Dalmiya

Continuing from your point, India does not miss Rahul Dravid in one-dayers and i am quite sure that his absence in test-matches in the near future too would not have an adverse impact. But that is one of the secondary point. The primary point is that Ganguly was forced to retire from cricket at a stage when he was doing exceedingly well in test cricket. Do have a look at his average since his comeback in 2007. On the contrary, Rahul Dravid's form as a test batsman has been on the wane but the selectors have decided to overlook his present form and take into account his glorious past. As far as Ganguly's one-day record is concerned, it is still one of the best regardless of what others have achieved. He was a thoroughly entertaining player and won many one-day matches single-handedly.

None of the new inclusions in the Test Team for Batting is showing any consistency in comparison to Dada!

I like some good Qualities in Dada:

1. Dada is not afraid to take decisions.
2. Dada is not buttering BCCI Members for survival
3. He is not doing any politics to his fellow team members like Dhoni doing to Sree
4. If Dada finds one player good for the team, he fight for that person even when BCCI try to eliminate that player!
5. Dada is not talking too much to media
6. Dada is not blaming anybody !
7. When batting, Dada is contributing to the team in ODIs and Tests! Sometimes he bowls also good!

Comparing these positives I do not find any one in our present team tht matches Dada!

Dada will be long remembered for this good captaincy!

ganguly better than Dravid? It is better you leave the comparsions aside and make a case for Ganguly. If anyone has to be blamed for this then it will have to be Ganguly himself. Do not blame Pawar or some xyz. IPL is a business and it is probably a business decision to leave out Ganguly. Go back to KKR and ask why they did not select ganguly.

You must be from Mumbai - you must be a hardcore supporter of Pawar! He is doing "Eden Garden" business to Dada!

Dada is much better than Dravid and a good Captain India cannot forget! Even you say: "Milk is black", reality is not going to change!! Look at the records and then argue!!

KKR dumped Dada purposely to please Pawar!

Dear Ashoka,
I understand your frustration for Dada. But donn be blind. Dada has been given enough chance in IPL as well.Dada is good player but he never forget his captaincy days. He was never a great player to work under. He was excluded from the Team at the 1st time.During Dravid captaincy, his behavior is also not hidden and also at the 2nd IPL term when he was not captain.

No one wants a Headache. So better to keep him away.
