No we cannot because then we will lose ourselves. Sachin is us, we are Sachin. That is what Marathi people have to offer to the rest of India.
Don't worry folks who are sorry to miss him after world cup. He will come back to play next world cup because he needs money and fame; and worshiping by Indians. Why not? Any human being will love that. Well may be not. Gavaskar retired when he thought he was not doing well.

Gavaskar, Gilchrist, Lara, Richards...the list is endless with the names of Greats, who quit, even though they still were capable.. But our "God" is so after money and records, he will never do that.. If india fails to win this world cup, iam sure he will cling onto the team, saying he wants to get the cup and play another 4 years

I don't see any problem from his part. In today's cricket money is vital. Everybody is after money. All Indian team members are after money. So that is not the point. The point is that Indians encourage this by praising people who should retire. He has nothing more to give to India. He has shown all his talent and capability. What else we can get from him?
Tendulkar's achievements notwithstanding, & his contribution to Indian and the world of cricket amply being recognised, the above ststements point to blatant and overt sycophancy and obsequious attitude that needs to be limited,

This is a game India cricketers play often to keep the hype. The point is that Indians encourage this by praising people who should retire. He has nothing more to give to India. He has shown all his talent and capability. What else we can get from him? India should put focus on building new players.
Re: PRAY?

read the article again carefully . Oza is not part of WC quad... Now tell me how he can play then..?? So he is atleast praying rather than posting negative comments on SRT or othr Ind team like some morons here...
Why pray for Tendulkar? Why not pray for India? When India will stop worshiping players? Are they above the team? I personally believe Tendulkar is a classy batsman however he has been hyped by the media to an great extent. He is not that great. He only counts his records. The fact that he scored centuries in matches which India lost speaks for it.
Re: Re: Pray for Tendulkar?

HE score 51 test centuries and in those 51 matches India won 21 of them. Please check your fact first.
Re: Re: Re: Pray for Tendulkar?
by sujith karun on Feb 02, 2011 07:32 PM
OK..so he still made 30 useless 100's.. and can you also deduct the following from your 21 and say what's left; 1) 100's against minnows (Bangladesh, kenya etc) 2) 100's in the flat batting paradises of India 3) 100's where he was not under any real pressure the biggest problem with the self proclaimed God, is that he crumbles like a cookie under pressure..

He scored 51 Test centuries and India lost in only 11 of them. Your point was about losing. Rather check your facts.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Pray for Tendulkar?
by syz2@rediffmail.com on Feb 02, 2011 07:39 PM
Ok. Do you mean in other matches India played to make it draw? Didn't India try to make it a win and in doing so the circumstance forced them to draw? Please think it.

Idiot Sometimes when u draw the match its as good as win..it all depends on situation...dont talk foolish..Some of his tons took Ind out of jaw of loosing that match..Its as good as winning too...U guys can see data but u got stupid interpretation of it.

In how many mataches India Won out of 51 Century? What is the average of Sachin in second inning as comapred to first inning? How many centuries in Second Inning which has ultimately proved to be worth by winning the match or saving the surely lost match? You check the records.

Question is not always of winning and losing. Cricket is a team game. Even if India loses after Tendular scores a century, His century does not become any less creditable.
