Dhoni has something great in him
by Abhijit on Feb 03, 2011 11:22 AM

Even though Dhoni himself earns more than Sachin through advertisements, he always mentions that Sachin is the Idol of him.

Under his captaincy, the other team members also show complete respect for Sachin.

I remember when Ganguly was captain, he tried to compete with Sachin. Eventually, Ganguli & Indian cricket has suffered.
Actually Indian batting was completely resting on Sachin at that time. Still instead of praising Sachin, Ganguly was thinking himself as the most important batsmen.

Dhoni is simply a humble, genuine & lucky person.
I wish his prayer should be fulfilled.

'I pray we win the Cup for Tendulkar' - Dhoni

Instead you try to win the Cup for the Country. Dont worry Sachin will help you to secure more and more commercial endorsements. First you practice Wicket keeping Techniques and how to collect the ball. Dont try to spoil the career of Young Wicket keepers like Parthiv and Dinesh Karthik

INDIAN CRICKET TEAM and WHOLE INDIA in false EUPHORIA
by Arvind KS on Feb 03, 2011 09:42 AM  | Hide replies

INDIAN CRICKET TEAM and WHOLE INDIA in false EUPHORIA.

The way Australia, Pakistan, Srilanka, England and SA playing ODI crciket recently, it will take a miracle for INDIA to win the world cup, with

1. Out of form middle order (does not matter, if they are world class, you have to make runs under tight situations consistently to be on the top).

2. Out of practise top order (Sachin, Viru and Gambhir hardly play any cricket and could be not 100% ready for the tourney, though it could be neutralized in the first half of round robin).

3. Pathetic fast bolwing attack (barring Zaheer) including NEHRA, who is leaking >20 runs in one odd over every match for last 2 years.

4. Pathetic fileding skilss and running between the wicket.

YOU REALLY AHVE TO BE A BLIND SUPPORTER TO SAY INDIA WILL WIN THIS WORLD CUP. BE READY TO REALIZE THE REALITY IN THE QUARTER FINAL ITSELF.

Surely, at QUARTER FINAL, DHONI can proudly say, it was just one off game, we played poorly, as he keep on saying for last 3 years, for not winning any ICC event.

People will still lvoe him, that is called blind love, blind support.

India may not be world champion
by raj kumar on Feb 03, 2011 08:04 AM  | Hide replies

If this is the attitude of every player in the Indian team they will not win this world cup. They should think and plan to win the world cup for India not for an Individual. I respect and admire Tendulkar but this cup doesn't belong to him its for whole country. He has done lot for Indian cricket but an individual can't be bigger than a nation or team. I dont know why every one is saying that they want to win this world cup for Sachin, they should tell they want to win this cup for India.

Raj Kumar:

Apparently you have a lot of issues to settle with a lot of "cricketers" including Bedi, Ojha, Gavaskar etc. etc.

BTW, how does it matter whether they think and plan to win the world cup for Sachin or for India? The thinking and planning will be for winning the World Cup in either case, won't it? :)

P.S.: Of all the "cricketers" who are disturbing you with their "claim for fame" by chanting Sachin mantra; none is involved in any actual planning, playing or winning the World Cup. Bear that in mind too... ;-)

Winning World Cup
by Dilip Mahanty on Feb 03, 2011 05:43 AM  | Hide replies

While the sentiments expressed by Indian players to win the WC for Sachin is heart warming they seem to have missed a point here.
Winning the World Cup for INDIA is infinitely better! After all these players are playing for their country and should give their best at all times to win the cup for India. If this becomes their motivation then everybody including Tendulkar wins! They should play for their country not for a particular individual however illustrious he may have been in his chosen field!

Mahanty:

Looks like those comments are making you think Sachin will take the World Cup home too, as he has been taking his runs home instead of adding to the team score... :)

BTW, when an Academy award winner dedicates his award to a near and dear one; does that mean that the near and dear one has won it? Or when an author dedicates a book to a mentor, friend, guide or their parents; does the authorship change? :)

Forever!
by Anuj Kumar on Feb 03, 2011 03:01 AM  | Hide replies

All those people who are under the impression that this may very well be Tends last World Cup and are depressed because of it, don't be!

It is rumoured that his Doctor wife has created a special tonic for him, by having this tonic regularly, he can play Cricket forever!

So we and all future generations of Indian Cricket fans will be able to see him trying to win a World Cup and fail to win it for many centuries to come!!
