TO BE FAIR TO ALL IT IS A VERY VERY BAD WICKET UNFIT FOR TESTS!
by Kabeer on Dec 29, 2011 05:14 PM  | Hide replies

40 wickets have fallen in just 3 1/2 days play - not accounting the delay due to rain on day one.

Let us admit one thing straight away!.

It is a very very bad wicket and unfit for tests.

If on day 3, when almost all test wickets are supposedly the best for batting, at Melbourne not less than 15 wickets have fallen.

And who are those batsmen?

All are legends from both sides.

And who are those bowlers who got these legendary batsmen? Virtually rookies.

Any legendary batsman can get out once for reckless batting- but not all legendary batsmen from both sides getting out twice.

These bowlers are not Glenn McGraths, Shane Warnes and Kapil Devs.

I saw Umesh Yadav.

Trust me you cant expect from him great things in the ensuing games. He might have got wickets but not because of his great bowling. It is the wicket that was so unpredictable.

Yes. SO what?

What do you read if the top 7 batsmen from both sides included who have nearly 1,00,000 runs among them averaged less than 30?

We lost 4-0 against England recently and all these legendary batsmen from Inida were in the team, were those pitches unfit for test. Please do not shield the failure of batsmen who have the history of failures against Enlgand, South African and Australian conditions.

Gambhir is fagged out after his IPL injury. He will not get back to his original form. Do not depend on him.

I think, Badri should have been selected in place of Virat Kohli.

atleast Rohit Sharma. Gambhir should be dropped for a better alternate opener. Dhoni, can he make it in this team if he is not the captain? Doubtful.

All th eproblems have arisen as sachin did not play in the ODIs agaisnt WI. He could have got a hundred then and would have concentrated now on the match. I think sachin should open the innings with Sehwag. Bring rohit sarma in place of Kohli.
