People are talking lot about india is now becoming developed country.. but I don't think so.. their entire system is not good.. in country like eng/aus/sa, player selected only after good performace, and they can call any player after 3-4 years also if he performed good at domestic level but same is not true in india. some of the players has fixed position in a team. everyone know Gambhir is not capable for his place in one day cricket also.. but still they are taking him in test matches also. at the moment Wasim jafar is best test opener for india. he is piling runs since last 2-3 years still they did not select him for eng tour and now in aus tour too.. everytime after defet dhoni says we are depend on some good start they he is not taking player who can do good at top. well at this point they do not have wasim but i think they should dropped gambhir and go with sharma and open with dravid. i think bowling is good.. only problem is to fix top order..

Wasim Jafar has been given ample opportunities. The fact is you cannot exclude Sehwag, Dravid, VVS, Sachin form a test side. They are among the greatest players ever even in their current form and India has no replacement for any of them. Gambhir has outstanding test record. He has 9 centuries and 18 fifties. He is a much better choice than Wasim. There is nothing wrong with the team selection. This was the best team India can field. Indian bowlers performed far beyond expectation. Indian team should have carefully thought and discussed the strategy with each player before he went out to bat. Some restraint by Sehwag and VVS would have resulted in a different final outcome of the test.

let give one chance to kohil but no chance to gambhir replace him with rohit and open with dravid.
Unless we get the good start, the middle orders fail and even Dhoni has said the importance of good start. In that case, how good Sehwag is as an opener?
He fails more often then not over the last couple years. Especially when the pitches are lively.. Rather to have some one steady and more reliable then Sehwag..

He is just a fluke player. Another overhyped player who plays once in a blue moon. His record in second innings is pathetic. All his centuries, except one have come in first innings.

if only the openers hv to do the job. whats the role of middle order? do the middle order need a shield of openers?
In the matches before Australian tour, it was observed that Rohit Sharma was by far the most consistent and comfortable against the bouncy deliveries. Selection committees work in mysterious ways.

Just one man's inclusion does not make any difference. Indians are only lions at home.

Yeah. Lanka is battered by South Africa in South Aftica. And Australia recently got whipped by Lanka in Lanka. Wake up. :-)
sachin is the real virus to the indian team. when he started his career he has ultimate support, even if never performs he would never be removed from the team. Give that advantage to any jack playing in the street and he will reach pinnacle. send sachin back to india and ensure he never gets on the selection committee. bombaygiri and preferences has plagued indian team for years and yet the common man falls for the fake glory. india was always mediocre ordinary team - can never reach the level of australian, southafrican or even the english team. booo to sachin.
