@Wrong team strategy and counter attack
by rama anne on Dec 30, 2011 06:57 AM  | Hide replies

Both Sachin and Laxman have max no of centuries against Aust in aust

so I do not belive Indian bastmen cannot make runs on bouncy pitches

both 2003 and 2008 series were close enough
we won PERTH test on bouncy track as well
======
I believe that ,it is Team strategy that has let us down

Mike hussey was lurking like a crocodile to catch shehwag - yet shehwag hits the same spot
ok his way of play is like that

but what happened to KOHLI
Laxman to make shots (catches)
also DHONI is long due for a big score

Sachin can play anyway in he wants
but all Indian bastmen on counter attack is unpardonable and unforgiveble at all

Sachin & Laxman do not compose Team India, there are 11 people in total..... Come out of worshipping these so called heroes.

both Sachin and Laxman are in @Team India
also @Sachin is special ,any cricket fan who watched Sachin make 74 runs will never forget the knock

I believe it is best both in flair and technical adage

disguised Ids or some people like you who are sabotaging Team India with sort of comments will not fool true Indian fans at all

Read my comment properly kid. Team India comprises of 11 people, not just these 2. Dont stick onto single so called heroes. Win/loss is a team effort. If u credit wins to Sachin, u should blame him for defeats also!

I am not sabotaging Team India kid, learn to use proper English words :)
I am a true Indian fan and have the right of speech to speak my opinion. Sabotaging is what u fantards are doing!! U r not bothered about how badly India lost, u r happy that Sachin/Laxman are having flair, technique.... WHat is the use of all that when it does not help u in victory?

Did they play to their best in the test? Be frank and tell the truth!!

India did not lose badly
India lost only 4th day afternoon when all batsmen played shots instead of selecting bad balls and wait patiently

they were impatient
-----
Sachin scored 99 Centuries already

he is human and he also will miss his mark

still inspite of it Sachin made 74 plus 34
a combined total highest run scorer
as well

Sachin looks like a Teenager even now ,many Aussies in syd told me he does not look like 38 years old he is like some 20 years plus

these comments were made by even Tonga ,somaoa islanders too who do not follow cricket

so be sincere and honest and acknowledge the same

Surav Gangulay is non political and most patriotic

it is Suarav Gangulay that made Indian team become self confident

Gary Kristen was the best coach to @Team India

If @Team Indias idea was tolauch counter attack ,then Dhoni apologise to Indian fans and nation as a whole and introspect fully and take responsibility

he should consult sourav, sachin for strategy ?

I also feel Team indias strategy is leaked by some Indian broker inside the team think tank

last time they leaked ,secret that Brad Hodge will be targeted (iam talking about India toured last time under sauravs captaincy )

Surprise to find Indians bowling short and round the wicket
by Nikhil Shah on Dec 30, 2011 05:55 AM  | Hide replies

With the amount of experience Zaheer and Ishant had, they should have been aware of the fact that bowling a fuller length and over the wicket would give them the wickets they needed. Why did Wasim Akram kept mentioning that over the air?

Anyway the good news was the 7 wicket haul of Umesh Yadav. If Yadav continues with his run for the next 5-6 Tests he will be the most heralded strike bowler in the history of Indian cricket with a bowling SR if 6-7 overs. Both Srinath and Kapil had better eco rates in Tests but bowling SR was about 10.5 overs and with Zaheer Khan who is now bowling at an SR of 8-9 overs, the strike capability is pretty good.

I think India will improve its batting from the first Test, if it wins the toss and bats first.

Overall it was a good performance by India considering that it was in Australia and the first Test on foreign soil where it was not an innings defeat.

Drawing the Test was difficult and both Shewag and Gambhir will fare better in the series.

Once change is possibly to use Rohit Sharma with Kohli.

Nikhil Shah, do u really think so? Umpire reviews were messed up 2-3 times, Aussies did not have many of their all rounders, their bowling attack was inexperienced, our batting attack was the best (hyped), some of the catches of Indian batsmen were dropped/bowled of a no ball. Even after so many advantages, our players failed to win. And u call it a good performance!!

Dhoni should apologize, take responsibility for the 5 consecutive defeats and resign respectfully! Why should Sachin/Saurav be consulted? They are equally big losers.
Our batsmen (except Dravid & Laxman) are real paper tigers on fast & swinging pitches!!

Not correct
=====
It is Saurav Gangulay who made 100 plus and led from front
both 2003 series and recent 2008 series were fought very close (Kumbles cpatiancy)

I think we came close to clinch series ,remember symonds caught and makes 160 plus runs

Surav Gangulay is the man who also gave chance to Yuvraj
Haribhajan
brought sreesanth from retirement for south africa world cup (we reached the Finals )

so I give lots of credit for making @Team india to top
=========
they are not real paper tigers

if so how come we won the perth test last time ?
Adelaide test as well

Winning an odd match away from home is nothing great. And u r speaking about 2007-08 which is almost 1 leap year ago!! 5 consecutive losses by Team India and u still claim we are not paper tigers abroad, superb logic!

And observe closely, Team India came #1 after playing 80% of all matches on sub-continental pitches only....

Dhoni should have ignored the hate and prejudice that is crashing India and should have included Rohit sharma in first match like they did during last series in Australia.

After the win, all the political selectors and captain would have bought their favorites in the subsequent matches. And the selected favorites would have lLeeched on the back of the winners to look better than the originals. But the haters pulled their hate trigger too early.

Ishant pressured the Aussies enough that batsmen applied caution to his bowling and tried their shorts on rest of bowlers and were out. Ishant has no option except stepping up, this time he has to find his own way. If it works, rest will follow and he has to move on.
Indian bowlers should not forget their rehabilitation and recovery during the match such as to be well.

Memo to Dhoni
by Tamil Indian on Dec 30, 2011 01:40 AM

Just go back and compare just two pictures of your field setting for 9,10,11 batsmen and Clarke's general field set up. You will know why they are able to take wickets more frequently.

India should have been apprehensive
by M Alem on Dec 30, 2011 12:01 AM  | Hide replies

India should have been apprehensive given the history of MCG. Apparently it is a very difficult place to win a match if you are chasing even 200. This is definitely a bowlers' paradise and I am delighted by India's bowling. They did their best and no one should complain about them. Australian bowling is stronger than India and the result shows it. In retrospect, Sehwag and VVS did not deliver. If they played more sensibly, India could have pulled out a victory. India still a formidable opponent and Aussies know it.
