Ponting is a great player. And, great players usually are allowed to leave on their own terms. Provided, their extended stay does not hamper the team's performance. As it seems so, Ponting's extended non-performing stay is effecting the team's performance. Having said that, does Australia have an effective replacement/s waiting in the sidelines? Haven't heard of anybody waiting to jump in Ponting or Hussey's shoes immediately. Like we have Rohit, Virat, Pujara, Yuvraj, Tiwary, etc snapping at the heels of our legends like Sachin, Dravid & Laxman. I beleive, CA should 1st identify who will replace them, effectively, and then take a call. I beleive they do not have anybody effective to take these spots, that is why the extended run to them. Because, previous greats like Border, Taylor, Mark Waugh, Steve Waugh, etc were not given such huge liberty by CA. Things will be interesting on the Indian tour. I personally think, both should be given a final chance for the entire tour.

It ll be good for us if he goes out or He will surely retain his form because indian bowlers are known for that

but in all team like paki, engalnd, new zealand there are some players who are good in feilding, bowling but not well in batting. Here ponting and hussey are not well played in batting but they are good feilders.Even sachin tingulkar, raina, kohli flopped in england tour but they perform well after this tour.SO give chance to these players they must come back against team india.
If australia did not change history then certain points must remember-
Play like west indies in 3rd test in mumbai.
Ponting, clarke, warner and hussey must take some responsibality in batting otherwise no work in team.
In south africa 1st match when australia make 47 runs only then 236 is huge target.Team australian feilder dropped crucial catches like sammy and co.So these dropped catches are suicidal attempt in cricket.that is why they did not survive 1st test otherwise they must win south africa by 2-0
Lot of responsibality shown by ponting with clarke and co. otherwise team india in this time are very strong. There are many good bowlers in england series like swann, tremlet, anderson but here new talents. That is why whitewash here not possible. But cricket is the game of uncertainity.West indies also survived whitewash.

Why Warner? He has not been given that many chances in test matches like ponting. But in last test he is the only one batted well
