Look back and decide for future!!
by rrssassociates rrss on Dec 07, 2011 10:47 AM

It was thought that it will be difficult to replace the likes of Gavaskar, Vishwanath, Vengsarkar and Azhar.... it was done better with Sachin, Sourav, Dravid and Lax.... i think exp says that as of today, Rohit sharma, virat kohli, raina and pujara seem to fit the bill... and if u care to note, there will always be a surprise selection of a teenager , the like of Sachin, Kohli or Rohit sharma, who will make the grade and will be a replacement... every country springs a teen age surprise, unheard of, as a stock player.... india had sachin, azhar, kohli and rohit sharma, pak had a few players, aus as recently had pacer cummins, do not worry replacements will come of their own on the horizon. With Sachin can a couple of years more, Laxman is very much fit to play 3 or 4 yrs more, no need to worry. Only Dravid seems like quitting but the way he looks it wud not be a suprise if he plays a year or two beyond 40. He looks lean, mean and hungry... India need not worry about replacement for another 2 or 3 yrs... Carry on Sach,Lax and Dravid...

Pujara is the only capableone, Sachin still IRREPLACABLE
by Unapologetic Intellectual on Dec 07, 2011 07:43 AM  | Hide replies

Rohit, Raina, Virat are good on slow Indian pitches.
So long as we dont venture into Aus, Eng, NZ, SA we will be fine.

Gambhir isnt the same player anymore after his injury.
Sehwag is a sweet timer not technically capable batsman. With age his reflexes will deteriorate & hence in 2 years he will be a fluke like Kapil.
In short we need five replacements. So the future looks quite gloomy.
Anyone calling for the big three to retire quickly need to pull their heads out of the sand & look around.

I dont see many capable youngsters. Rahane needs to prove himself, Parthiv has had many chances. Jadeja cant handle pressure, Yuvraj is better at being a playboy though he has his moments of brilliance.

People calling for Sachin to retire are just blind of jealousy
So guys heres a challenge for you. Name one replacement for each of: Sachin, Rahul, VVS, Gambhir & Sehwag
Lets see what you got
Truth is tough to handle.

Rahane needs to prove himself - as you said. And Pujara doesn't?

Pujara needs to prove himself even more.
