sarode, maybe u r still in 2004-05. His tennis elbow is no longer a problem now. and why do u have ants in ur pants if the crowd want to see his century?
Its really tragic! If Raja is allowed to write on sachin, i'm worried that tomorrow we will see a column from Rakhi Sawant on rediff regarding - US financial mess.
Need a new janlokpal which could save country from these moronic journalism

Raja Sen is a pathetic moron. There will hopefully be golden days when such articles are not published at any forum
You may hate me for this but the truth is: India as a cricketing nation should \"invest\" more in developing the next generation rather than living in the \"glorious past\" of a few senior players. No individual is bigger than \"Team India\" and more important team \"Winning\" in the first place. So, everyone who did not perform should be held accountable ; be it senior or juniors and same yardstick should be applied to all. Going by that, barring Dravid everyone was a failure and should prove why they ought to be in the National team.
Enough of Emotional Attachment ! You perform u r there, if u dont u shud be out! ....Prove that u shud be there by performances rather than past record
A system like tracking performances in 10 One day/Test games or series by series analysis might be a good start...
Players performance measured by way of : * Higher averages(batters)/lower eco rate/higher strike rate(bowlers) * Runs/Wickets against quality of opposition * Contribution in Winning the match for the team, etc are just some of the parameters which might be given weighing in reaching a final score...this may be used to finalize the annual contract of players...
that way every player will be on his toes and would value when he is playing for the national.Obviously, IPL/other such 3rd grade tournaments should be degraded simultaneouly!....their scope should be more towards \"Identifying\"

With your criteria only SRT, Rahul,VVS, Zaheer would be in team...

And we need good analysts of the game too. People who can contribute with constructive criticisms. Not a specimen like this duffer who tries to impress a cricket review column with his old school English.
Are we adding records in two or more different forms of the game for any other player? Why are we doing it for him? And his record is not unimaginable. It is very ordinary. Every team these days has 2 or 3 batsmen who average between 50 and 55. Sachin's records are records in quantity, and not quality.

Learn to appreciate what is good. By degradind those, where u cannot reach won't make u popular. Please adopt good qualities. I knw ppl who spk agst Anna. God knows why?

Why don't you counter the argument instead of bothering about me? Have I denied that he has scored all those runs? But if he is so much better than the others, his batting average should have been at least 5 runs over the rest of the lot, which it is not. That is why his record is in quantity: He has played so much, and that is why he has scored so many hundreds. If he is scoring his runs at an average which is like 10 others, how is he better than all of them? And keep that crap of the argument that he carries the burden of 1.2 Billion people with you. If that argument is accepted, best batsmen would come only from India.

Going by your login then only DOn Bradman should be considered great as only his averages are at least 5 clear of others (actually almost 40 ahead). You fail to realize off course that there had been only 11 batsmen with a higher average in the entire history of test cricket of which only 1 is still playing (Kallis), discounting Trott who has played all of 23 matches so far.

A Singh:
:) Noone can deny you the privilege of considering Sachin only equal to others. Similary you shouldn't deny others the privilege of considering Sachin better than others... :)

WHat a foolish logic. If it is not unimaginable, it must be very ordinary!!! As far as averages are concerned SRT averages above 55 not between 50-55 and there are only 3 guys currently playing who have above 56 average among those who have played 50 or more innings, Kallis, Sanga and SRT. Not even R Ponting who obviously is one of the all time batting great.
As far as all teams have 2-3 with 50 average is considered, you don't seem to have followed much of cricket, barring India the only teams with at least 2 such guys in their ranks are Sri Lanka (Sanga, Mahela, Samarweera) and England (Pietersen, Trott).
This fool and moron Raja Sen has been transferred to the sports section in rediff, having been thrown out of the movie section. I think this man gives monthly salary to rediff for employing him...LOL. He has spared ppl for a while from his foolish movie reviews and now he is in the sports column.
GOD SAVE REDIFF. Rediff, request you to please terminate this Raja Sen ASAP.
