It'll be interesting to watch the Big 3's performing in Australia.
From here our next Tests are at home against windies, but i won't take much from that series, so I guess the Aus tour would really be interesting. Let's see if there is any change in performance from the Eng tour

people would've said he plays for himself and not the team. i guess different yardsticks for different players huh!
Re: ...

Logically , the good counterpoint is that if your centuries are not enough to win matches which means you alone are scoring while the team fails, this is true for dravid in the series and also has been true for some tendulkar innings.

mr. mang. we the viewers do not include us, Dravid was the only exception to show some grit..he was given wrongly in the second innings by the BLIND third umpire..who went by instinct...

35 Century,12,500 plus runs,10,500 plus runs in ODI,Ready to do anything for teams sake,200 plus catches in Test cricket plus epic innings at Culcutta 2001,Paksitan 2004,Adelaide 2004,England 2002,2007 & 2011,.....it goes on and on.......am waiting for the day when Rahul Dravid alongwith Laxman and sachin retires.......to see what this flat pitch bullies will do.
This was supposed to be Tendulkar's party but Dravid destroyed it. Most people watched innings after innings for the God to make centuries, and not Rahul Dravid.
Re: ...

Tendulkar has a better body language in defeat than Dravid. Dravid looked so happy because of his individual performance nevermind the state of the team. Tendulkar wouldn't be happy scoring centuries if the team loses.
You can see how overjoyed he was in between the sessions while batting, his reaction to the individual landmarks

mr.taklu please check the statics before commenting on dravid..out of 49 centuries sachin how many are winning ones when compared to dravid..
Re: Re: Re: ...

They also tell you that one man stood still while the team fell apart. Just like dravid in this series, 3 centuries but india couldn't win one. that does say dravid played well but others failed. same with sachin

"boss" yes it is a team game. we had only one centurion , they had so many...we've been outplayed man.

So how did you read Rahul Dravid's body language Mr. Allan Pease. Specially when he handled all the most difficult positions in match. He opened when the team needed it in swinging over cast condition. After carrying the bat for 7 hours, he still came out to open again, and you can read his body language.

I just made a point sachin never shows his elation on centuries while the team is losing. what's wrong in making a statement? jeez it's funny you people think it's cool to attack someone for having an opinion.
I do know dravid has great batting technique, i have posted at least 40 odd comments alone praising dravid ..

Sir, you do have an opinion and nobody here said that don't make it. But opinions also have reactions and consequences. So be a sport and take it in good spirit.
Beside you still have to provide and instance or example to illustrate your opinion. Opinion without facts as base needs to branded with intent...

actually Dravid' s carrier is destroyed by BCCI , he was forced to do ADD work of Wicket keeper when he was at peak of his carrer, he was thrown out of one day side without considering his talent, you just look what problem occured when dada was thrown out
Re: Re: Re: ...
by taklu on Aug 24, 2011 11:44 AM
wish dada was still playing. what the hell is he doing in the commentary box, he should follow pakistanis' footsteps come out of retirement and take reigns of team india

You are wrong. Tendulkar looks to heaven every time he scores a century. No team member will be happy if team loses, not just Tendulkar.
Agreed that the circumstances were tougher than they were in 2002. Also agreed that the bowling was much better this time round. But back in 2002, Dravid's performance helped India draw the test series which was not the case this time. None of his centuries could help India draw or win.

For drawing a test, he needs somebodies support on the other side, that he didnot get in this series
Re: How can this Performance be Better than 2002
by taklu on Aug 24, 2011 11:10 AM
They are talking on individual terms. Individually for Rahul Dravid this was more testing than 2002 , even though it did not help the team to draw even one game.
