Glaring mistakes
by rajath on Aug 23, 2011 03:32 PM  | Hide replies

I can pinpoint 3 major reasons:
1.The present captain is not at all a captaincy material, not even deserved to play ahead of Parthiv and Dinesh.
2.India is making a huge blunder by repeatedly ignoring Munaf Patel from the bowling line up.
3.Added to that they are repeatedly selecting erratic Sreeshanth along with some biased selections like that of RP Singh.

I definitely agree. Finally BCCI take Aaron who consistently. But I am unsure Aaron will propel in 1 day series. 1 day cricket is different from Test Cricket. In test cricket you have the liberty to bowl and try various deliveries. But in 1 day you need stick up to your basics bowl in right areas and decent line. Aaron who is hailing from Jharkand may be get good backing from the captain.

hello, what cheating have they done?
Naach na jaane, aangan teda!We did not prepare well for the test series and that showed up in our individual performances. I think all English bowlers were brilliant and even Swann who was punished well by Dravid in the first 3 tests and the 1st inngs of the 4th, bowled so well in the last innings. He never gave up.
Whereas our bowlers had one good session followed by 4 bad ones. This was the case.

Ha Ha Ha!! I have never heard of a more ludicrous comment. Rekha please do not post your ignorance on this board. You are sounding absolutely stupid and not in the least funny. Even children who understand a bit of cricket wouldn't post such nonsense.

For once, Indian media is spot on...
by Sanjay Sanj on Aug 23, 2011 03:23 PM  | Hide replies

Greed... IPL tamasha, all contributed to this poor display. However, a lot of the blame also has to be shouldered by our players... apart from Dravid all are not even fit to play as 'B' Team...

I agree.
Dravid too played the IPL and WI tour. The only difference was that he did not play the WC. But he played a pink ball 3-day experimental game for MCC at that time. It also has to do with the work ethic of individuals. Youngsters have to imbibe some of the traits from Dravid.

BCCI

The team is not team India but Team BCCI.
Mr. Srinivasan is more serious about how his team Chennai Superkings coz his valuation is linked to the team performance . Dont ask how the BCCI President cant own a particpating team - Conflict of Interest !
He has got a compliant selector - Srikanth- who happens to also be brand ambassador of CSK!

The captain Dhoni knows he will be judged by his performance in IPL than for Team India . Thats why he prepared for the series by
- Focussing on launching hios wife's charity in London
-Shooting for an ad deriding his team member .
All he cares for is the "moolah" from ads and IPL .
- He does a better job of collecting moolah and sponshorship than caollecting balls behind the wicket .

And the best part is that he does want to be woken up . If he want to sleep let him get off the Indian team.

Who cares, we want to nominate SRT for Bharat Ratna!
by Oomshik Tooshik on Aug 23, 2011 03:16 PM  | Hide replies

Common comments for SRT:

'Oh, this year he has better avg than Bradman lifetime' (!)
'Bradman has said he is like SRT'
'Congrats on most runs and most tests'
'oh get a triple hundred. only that is missing'
'aim for a 400, beat Lara record'
'wish you get to 250 tests'
'well done please get to 20000 runs'
'praying for your 100 centuries'
'Hope you play for 5 more years'

Not a word abt winning games.

Typical of Tendulkar and his following. all they want is meaningless records. None of these glazed eyes is talking about winning matches, especially scores when needed

what's wrong in expecting all these from player who performs most of the time while other 10 fails? and if he fails there is 90% chance that others have also failed in that game.4th test he played but others failed.for team game everyone should be accountable and if other 10 are failing then there should not be problem for expecting at least individual records for person from a 1.2 billion peoples country

punishing schedule .... joke
by pradeep krishnan on Aug 23, 2011 03:12 PM

what punishing schedule......most players were resting while a second rate team played the west-indies. Dravid laxman etc did not play the world cup. Dhoni yes he played right through raina too. But then see other countries schedule. Aussies travel and play lot more than india. This team does not care to win in longer format. See how they bounce back in one day. same was the case with Aussies in the ashes series. And with a half fit side (yes more than 6 players who would have made it to the playing eleven sat out) india went in to play most tests. Even Aussies did not suffer that kind of a prob at their best

Total Disaster
by sai krishna on Aug 23, 2011 03:10 PM

The loss was terrific. The players BCCI all are responsible for this flop show. First Remove all these so called Seniors from the squad. Tendulkar,Dravid, Laxman should be asked to retire voluntirely. They should be ensured that you take the match money but dont play again. Because all three are more worried about Money than Cricket. Dravid is an Exception but he too guilty of dropping too many catches. Dhoni should be asked to leave cricket so that he can concentrate more on Adds which is now main source of money. Dhoni should be dropped and removed from side. A proper Wicket keeper should be choosen. Raina is a One day player. Chatteswar Poojara is technically sound test player than Raina. Gambhir should be dropped and asked to play Ranji Trophy matches. Sehwag should be admiited to AIIMS to diagnise what type of probelm he had actually facing.
We need to find bowlers both fast and spin. Mind it in the World Cup also our batsman gave us Cup not bowlers. Virat Kohli, pujara, Manoj Tewari, A.Rayudu, should be given chance. If they fail and loose the series also it does not matter. As our branded people embrassed our Country with their shame less performance. Why dont we try with young one.
