Management mishaps
by Ashish Sharma on Aug 22, 2011 12:31 PM  | Hide replies

First, Sehwag is kept out as captain wants to promote some other player and Srikant wants murli vijay as an opener in spite of all his failures.

Secondly, Sehwag is also required to play IPL under contract, and his injury is overlooked, and his operation gets delayed.

Then, the great Indian opener (murli vijay) promoted by Srikant is found useless for the team, and also the brilliant batting side fails to deliver in spite of 7 world class batsmen simply because they didn't practice to play bouncers, probably they expected dead wickets or they thought they have supernatural talent to perform even without practice.

Now, Sehwag is called suddenly for remaining matches without giving him time to recover fully (board thought he is superman and will change the performance of other non-performing players). Board didn't even think about its effect on his inclusion in one days matches, while board was so keen to include Dravid, when they neglected him for last two years.

he is the "biggest flat pitch bully" in the indian cricket history.....if pitch n conditions doesent suit him, sits in dressing room in no time, leaving it to Mr. dravid.....now faking injury and skipping mathces...it happened in SA on a bouncing pithces and it occured here again on swinging n seaming tracks of ENG.!!!wow...what a great opportunistic player!!!!

Why was he sent in first place?
by pradeep agarwal on Aug 22, 2011 12:29 PM

The selectors & player need to be put to sword for allowing him to play with injury. This is really making mockery of international event & shows our cricket administration in poor light.

Fitness of player
by Santanu Banerjee on Aug 22, 2011 12:27 PM

Ongoing shameful test series proved greedy board and players attitude. Board can't deny about all these process.
1. What about the fitness report of players before selection? And who is responsible for that? In India if player will declare that he is fit he will be included in the team but in other country system is not like that.
2. Who is the physio of present team. Previously famous physio like Lipas and Ru was physio of the team but now some worthless people are deputed. And this type of frequent unfit condition of players like Zaheer,Sehwag,Gambhir, are happening in the middle of a tour which affects the result.
2. If England was so well prepared for this series , why dont India? Indian board should learn from past that this England team defeated Australia by 3-0 and made a homework because they should know and calculate that if we will loose this series bu 2-0 or 3-1 we will not be No.-1 anymore. Some experts analysis for batting and bowling strength and weakness of England players should be opted.
But they thought why they should care for win or lose, they will make money even a 4-0 defeat.

my thoughts

If at all there was one person who screwed up dravid's career, it was dilip vengsarkar. He showed double standards while dropping him...But dravid showed his class..dilip may be a great player but he is not a good ambassador of cricket..ATP has an award called Sportsmanship award, named after my favourite gentle giant Stefan Edberg, likewise ICC should create an award for sportsmanship in cricket in the name of Rahul..Long live Rahul... May god bless you with longevity and bless us in making us watch you bat on and on and on and on in Tests. Gud Luck

who says vengsarkar is a great player,he scored tons of runs on indian pitches,& apart from his 3 centuries iin england he did not score a single century in australia(3 tours),new zealand(3 tours),pakistan(2 tours),west indies(3 tours). infact he had a weakness against genuine fast bouncy stuff, thus he failed miserably against lillee, hadlee, imran, wasim, marshall, garner, ambrose etc.70% of his 6000 runs were scored in india.

FRAGILE - HANDLE WITH CARE.
by ADOLF HITLER on Aug 22, 2011 12:17 PM

I hope the BCCI has learnt frm their repeated mistakes. As its said the pace bowlers r 2 b wrapped in cotton we on the other hand play every new pace sensation we get in almost every match round the clock.

The result is 4 all of us to see - We have lost their original steam and pace. how many 2 name. Zaheer, Irfan, Sreesanth, Ishant, RP Singh, Nehra.

Now its the turn of Varun Aaron.

Recently Wasim Akram pointed Varun and Shami Ahmed in the domestic cricket who bowls over 140 plus. now we need to induct them into the national side asap.. and please don't send them Down Under.

Also what happened with Abid Nabi the young pacer from J&K... No news of him as during the Chappel era he was tipped to play 4 India..
