At the end of 2nd test Dhoni said 'We will pick sehwag, even if he is just fit to walk'.

Why should we depend on these Senior Cricketers
by Sowri Rajan on Aug 22, 2011 01:50 PM  | Hide replies

I do not understand one thing. If senior cricketers like Laxman, Sachin, Sehwag and Harbhajan do not perform well against genuine pace bowling, why youngsters were not given a chance to perform. Even if they fail, it does not harm Indian cricket, but the damage inflicted by these senior players is inexcusable. If you are not fit, declare yourself unfit and sit out. It is high time BCCI sits with poor performance in mind, rather than counting money.

I can agree about Sachin and Dravid but VVS ? I saw myself live in edgbaston. What a horrible batsman he looked. Amit Mishra looked 100 times better than this guy. If they are out of form or unfit, bcci should ask them to sit and spend some time with family .. or may be play domestic cricket and inspire some youngsters

But the problem is youngsters don't want to inspire...

AN EASY GOING SEHWAG PAYS THE PRICE.
by damodaran mohan on Aug 22, 2011 01:49 PM

As it is Sehwag appears very easy going on or off the field. Even while he is batting one could see complicated shot making w/o any hang ups. Most of the time even when the side is in difficulty he is seen in jovial mood, singing songs or making fun. He is rarely seen in tension and most of the time looks jovial and easy going. In the changed new scenario of the need to play different versions of he game, especially in India with predominance of IPL, the individual players will have to be very professional in their regimentation of Fitness levels and I am afraid Sehwag’s nature of taking things lightly might cut short his career. The Board will also have to plan for such critical players like Sehwag their playing itineries very judiciously. In Sehwag's case this fellow could not keep up his IPL commitment also fully and had to miss the matches towards the end.In the end Sehwag was available 100% fit neither in IPL nor for playing for India .It reflects very poorly on the part of an easy going Sehwag.

Indian Players plagued by Injuries
by krishnamurthy sridhar on Aug 22, 2011 01:43 PM

It has become customary that the present crop of Senior Indian Crickets are taking their places for granted. Hiding niggling injuries has become a habit and this has been a key point during this tour on blighty!!

This is a stunt by sehwag
by Oye Kake on Aug 22, 2011 01:35 PM

He understood that playing in England where the bowling is fast with heavy swing his non-technical cricket is not going to work and the whole ODI will be a failure for him which will open a lot of criticism and hence its better to withdraw the name;

Why everybody abusing Sehwag??
by Murali on Aug 22, 2011 01:32 PM  | Hide replies

Have you seen yesterday match. He is playing with pain. It is not easy to play with injured shoulder after Surgery. Really it will be very painful and he suffered for deafness. It is BCCI decision to pull sehwag to play third test. Please pray for Sehwag to get well 100% cure. May be he failed for last Four Innings but he is our match winner. Most of the time he won the match single handly. Please dont abuse sehwag!!!

WHO is abusing? let him take rest if he is unfit..we don't want the players to play in pain..there are enough players to get India a bad name, so why sehwag when he is truly a cricketer...let him come back...

You are putting the whole country into poor light when you play with injury. This is not something which can be easily brushed off. Every player including the so called Great Sachin to explain why they failed to bat against pace bowlers. Harbhajan with his loud mouth makes big statements and end up scoring centuries with his spineless (spinless) bowling.

Sowri Ranjan

Sachin has been guilty of not capitalizing on starts this series. He has decent starts, didn't seem like he is struggling for form. He seems to be getting out due to lack of concentration which arises from lack of match practice.
