The grooming of youngster properly was the real issue not winning
by Nikhil Shah on Sep 16, 2011 03:26 AM

The true test of a captain is when he has no talent. Yes, he has done well, but this was already a team which flourished before.

The exclusion of Umesh Yadav in SA and Varun Aaron has been an issue. In addition, when the WC was played India could not defend 339 in 50 overs and the selection of Piyush Chawla was a big blunder because India could have lost the WC had it not been for the Seniors.

Another blunder is the exclusion of Shikhar Dhawan who was a legitimate ODI opener compared to Dinesh Karthik and Parthiv and the chronic absences of Gambhir, Sehwag and Sachin.

The lack of grooming of Tiwari and with no real find of the series in the absence of seniors was the major issue rather than losing the rankings.

Mukund Anand and Murali Vijay should have continued for the England tour even though they failed in WI, because they were legitimate openers.

Overall, I would call this a farce if the youngsters were not properly exposed since winning cannot be expected and a wasted chance for the future. The selectors had no clue about which player is suitable for which format.

Rahane's developement should have started in SA as a Test top order and Tiwari in the Test middle order so that they were ready in WI.

Overall, Dhoni tends to select line and length with swing but the strike capability has hurt India and his bias for Praveen Kumar, R.I.P Singh, Ohja and Jaidev Unankant over strike bowlers like Ishant, Mishra, Varun and Umesh will show up when the batting is depleted

Dhoni will stick to his Chair like politicians
by Gotchi on Aug 25, 2011 03:03 AM  | Hide replies

He knows he is a below average Wicket Keeper and very average batsman. He will be out of the team in no time if he steps down.

Why blame Dhoni alone Coach is the biggest problem this team has. Very very poor coaching.

Buddy, Zaheer showed up straight from his bedroom with his belly hanging.. Did you seem him during the first test? He was fat and out of shape..

He was out of shape to last this series. ANd when did Zaheer play full series overseas? Get your fact right...:))

Shame on us we're reying on one bowler. ANd that one bowler doesn't care about his country..

So it's about the time you look at bigger picture and get your duck in row..

Zaheer is unfit but bowls well because he uses his brains. Most other bowlers are brainless zombies. Who don't innovate according to the conditions.

Dhoni should quit from captaincy
by guru ramakrishna on Aug 23, 2011 06:30 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni still not qualified for test captaincy. He needs to learn from experience.Give some one captaincy like Dravid.
Dhoni should learn lot of things to ba as captain and good test batsman. When Big 3 retires india test team will look terrible.Indian team management should take immediate recovering action and keep going

His mask of captain cool is slipping to fool
by pradeep agarwal on Aug 23, 2011 05:22 PM  | Hide replies

The way he has tried to explain the loss is really foolish. How on earth can otherwise a total annihilation be described as bit below par performance by batsman? The way he batted kept & captained ,allowing over 400 runs in day twice shows that it is no longer captain Cool but actually fool.

lol. You will win and lose in life. And here lots of factors went against them. The same was expected to happen in World cup. But did not happen. It waited till the english series. Captain cool is not because he wins, but he remains calm. And that he still does. Take defeat and victory the same way. Stop reacting emotionally and look at it. I am sure they will bounce back. But will BCCI ever realize ? God only knows.

Dhoni test average outside
In WI 2006, 24
In SA 2006, 26
In AUS 2007, 17.62
In SLK 2009 17.5
In SA 2011, 35.8
In WI 2011- 19.5 (last series)
( score of 0,16,2, 5 & 74(only one good inning when WI was operating with bowlers like bishoo/chandrapaul & front line bowler rampaul/shammi etc was resting due to injury).
In Eng 2011- 30 (present series)

Also dhoni after playing 27 T-20 intl has not scored a single fifty, no match winning inning, no MOM & pathetic strike rate of 105 (one of the lowest for any batsman in T-20 at his batting position)
In ODI overseas also he is a big failure as batsman who never perform when require due to limited batting ability & has hardly won any important ODI outside india with his batting.
He is a flop wicketkeeper also in last 3 series where dropped many catches.

Dhoni is best
That’s why doing rest.
hehehe

Of course you dont, Mr Dhoni
by LOL on Aug 23, 2011 04:45 PM  | Hide replies

Otherwise, Who will get you the commercials on TVs and other advt contracts? Who will ever consider you for the coveted Indian awards...they dont know that you are also aspiring for Bharat Ratna alonside Sachin (if possible, get it ahead of him!). And who will fit the bill for your 1000 other investments in realestates and hotels etc..

We fully understand that you dont believe in such nonsense like stepping down etc..they are meant for highly emotional souls..not for a cool calculating practical person like you. After all there will always be another series in India where goats like Sehwag, gambhir and Raina will score triple hundreds and you can get all the glory back. Its just a matter of time...the public / press is foolish to call for your head at this hour. Shame on them!

Dravid scored 3 centuries in lost causes, that does diminish his efforts just cause we lost.

We lost to a very good side.England bat very deep,up to number 10 after leaving out Anderson who is no mug with the bat and can hang around, while our batting ends with at 7 in seaming/swinging conditon.Toothless & useless attack draw was our best result.Fielding, start with DHoni he collects the ball always near his shoe, the slips therefore stand much behind you will seldom see Indian slippers taking catches near their shoulder always diving forward and we dont learn .How can you win with Harbajan Singh bowling the way he is, was played more for his batting than belief he wud get wickets. Even with Zaheer we only have a decent attack unlike potent English our bowlers are a good 15 Kmph slower.

Now coming to batting effectively we played with 3 batsmen Sachin, Dravid and Laxman . These were the only wickets that mattered who exuded any confidance when they were at crease , we lost a couple wickets against the run of play at crucial times , Laxman a couple of times to pull shots , run out of Tendulkar and he being unwell at Lords besides the misfortune of Dravid s dismissal in both innings of last test.

The youngsters were a total flop raina and yuvraj and dhoni just didnt measure up.What a shame just about 30 overs to be negotiated in the last innings and we might have saved the test we lose 7 wickets for 21 runs.

SO please analyse properly, i mean no offence to anyone jus
