As Hussain has rightly noted (most Indians cannot) Dravid should be allowed to go on in Test Cricket. He has time and again proved that he is the best TEST BATSMAN India has ever produced; even better than Sachin and Gavaskar.

Gavaskar has played quite a few match winning and a lot of match saving knocks in his career at a time when there are bowlers who throw cannons and there is just a cap to protect your head! It is not wise to compare Gavaskar with any modern cricketer since none of the modern cricketers have faced fast bowling to the likes of Lilee, Thomson, Hall, Hadlee, Sobers, Holding and Roberts with no shin guard, abs gaurd or head gear for protection.
hiding? The dirty rogue was after Dravid to rid him of captaincy and gift Tendu with the same--remember the humiliation meted out to Dravid--sacked, made to prove mettle by playing ranji match etc

Was Dravid ever dropped from the test team ?
He was dropped from ODI team, which is natural considering his lack of ability to accelerate. He had this issue at the start of his career as well. It kind of went away when he started to wicketkeep for India in ODI's.

His ability to up the strike rate. For example you have Gambhir with a better strike rate and average than Dravid. You can have Yuvraj/Raina/Kohli come in at number 3 with better strike rate and average than Dravid.
Dravid's time in the ODI team has always been in the red zone. The only time when he was a certainty irrespective of his batting ability was when he was keeping wickets.
He is one of the best technically gifted batsmen india ever produced. His strength is in test cricket than ODI.

accelerate huh? he has been very good considering the face that him and tendulkar have one of the most highest partnership of i guess 317. and no tendulkar didn't score 317 alone. it was both of them. you see your "YOUNG GUNS" are all flat track bullies. players like tendulkar and dravid show you how to play cricket on tough tracks. and please do englighten me who are you to compare or judge wether dravid can play ODI or not? i think your statement is in a red zone now
india and pakistan has similar problem.they never work on bench hence they never have consistent team. there is one difference. pak has not consistent batsman after yusuf yunus and inzi and in case of india they are also facing the same issue. what after tendulkar dravid and lakshaman is a bigger question.

as usual bharat ratna begger cum lobbying wealthy cricketer failed on foreign pitches,scoring hundred on indian pata pitches is easy against ordinary spinners of foriegn but in england ,he has shownhis capability,he will wate 1 place in team for scoring his 100 century and srikant and slectors selecting him to please shard pawar sahib,actually all sehwag,harbhajan and bharat ratna beggers shud be scaked for next 2 series as punishment
To we have been appriciating Dravid, being a great wall, but, after some days these people will forget his great achievement when our great IPL TOURNAMENT will start where girls used to dance with every four or six or a batsman is out. Is that a cricket? where lots of big indian industrialists, filmstars, businessmen invest crores of money in order to stage this CRICKET CIRCUS where player like Dravid is not required but as he does not know how to take spoon shot, tennis racket shot to get runs.

Dravid, Kumble Srinath all three are selfless servants of indian cricket. Time is showing their greatness. No media is saying this now bcoz they are very partial. If dravid had failed they wud have made a big noise by asking his retirement. why not they asksachins retirement....
To me Dravid is the best batsman in the world even ahead of the great great Sachin Tendulkar.
If people say Sachin is the best then its only by statistics. It is DRAVID who has scored in tough situations, against tough oppositions and tough conditions. He is the symbol of good batting technique, grit, mental courage, concentration and endurance

why bharat ratna beggers are in team,sack this greedy mumbaikar,then why srikant selected Abhinav from his town,why Sehwag and harbhajan in team for past performance?all with sachin shud be sacked,as so called no n responsible senior players getting white wash,then why not send new young fresh blood for England and Australis pitches?also to hide their performance ,they giving sexcuse of ankle,toe,leg,injuries,same players palying with full strengdth in ipl cricket?shame on tendulkar,sehwag,harbhajan and ishant?
