We lost all the matches? Whats great about Dravids contribution? Did he won it for us?? And after all he dropped so many catches. No one is talking about it. And after a long long GAP dravid has performed and that too for a losing cause.

Its not ur tendulkar its OUR tendulkar. We belong to india, i dont know about you. I think you in Ghat. Whenever dravid scores century, we loose matches. It has been proved in this series.

Mr Nikhil, This message that u have posted shows how impotent you are about your knowledge on cricket. If Dravid has scored centuries and India have lost, its not his fault. Its a team game and I want you to answer what were the other morons in the team doing?

hopefully the same applies when you analyze some of Sachin's centuries in lost cause

Hi Mahesh Impotent, i purposely wrote this about dravids century as i wanted to draw attention of everyone and i agree with Mr, Vimalan. Same rule should be applicable to all. Why people were accusing sachin that whenever he scores century india loses. This is totally a foolish & immatured statement. Please note cricket is team game and the team has to perform. Thank god Sachin didnt score any century in this series which we lost badly, otherwise foolish poeple would have again critised him. Sachin has scored so many centuries, that it is bound to happen that some may go in loosing cause and also because others didnt perform. No one should forget that in the decade of 90's, he was one man army, while others were busy in fixing the matches. His contribution is very very big and no can neglect it. And this shall not take anything from dravid, because he is also an excellent player.

What brownie points did you score by drawing your "attention" here. Only one man stood and made himself count out there. period.

Yes i have scored brownie points....fact is fact, same rule shall be applicable to all.....
Scoring 3 hundreds in seaming condition definitely needs More mental strength and talent.WHICH HE HAS SHOWN NOW.At least 1 Indian come up well and challenged the entire English Bowlers gives us some pride.Imagine if he too bated like others what will be the condition of India. We are lucky to have him ODI squad. He will prove his worth in ODI format too as he has already proven his ability.Good Luck for INDIA AND DRAVID FOR THE ODI MATCHES.At least India should win the ODI series to compensate the Test Loss of 4-0.Jai Hind.
Imagine, india's total innings runs without dravid's contribution in every match. Even India just manage to touch 300 marks only one time in the series. Rahul u r the winner even if india gets witewash by 0-4 too.I love u
In flat pitches every body scoring including Tendulkar,Partiv patel, Ishant sharma, Srinath, kumble,Venkatapathy Raju,Chetan sharma, Maninder singh etc.,
In seaming pitches only Dravid, Lara, Kallis, Gavaskar,Ponting, M.Jayawardene,Trott etc., can score. All are world class players...

Any pitches any where in the world sachin is comparable with other players not with Dravid,Kallis and Lara.

In Australian pitches already Dravid prooved many times only yur fake God yet to proove but he never can't do.

clearly Dravid is a selfish player. playing for records. what's the use of scoring hundreds if your team loses. no?

your "no 1" team played like zimbabwe, dravid has always been the anchor..as for sachin..im sorry on a personal level amazing records but all are crafted for personal gain..very convinently he gets 91 runs in the last innings in england and he is never questioned bout his form either even if he fails..so dont evn joke bout sachin being better than dravid..sachin is a wonderful batsman not a great teamplayer
Nass, thanks for this lovely little article highlighting what Dravid means for India. No Indian former cricketer/commentator (forget those on payrolls of BCCI like Shaz and Sunny) will play up Dravid at the expense of Tondulkar. Rahul is a selfless cricketer- otherwise he would not have opened second innings again after carrying his bat thru for 93 overs. With the advent of easy money from IPL, the team is highly infested with regionalism/groupism/vested interests. But any knowledgeable follower of Indian cricket will salute Rahul...

I wonder why Sachin who is recognized opening batsman did not come forward and opened for India in this series. Why he only opens in one days ?
Test cricket needs to be treated with respect if it has any future in India. Hence, test cricketers should also be managed properly if quality cricket has to survive in India.
Apart from the drubbing we received from the rampant England, we should also look at the root causes rather than targetting few players.
BCCI should look at long term prospects rather than running this IPL circus every year.
The way Dr. Malya treated Bhajji ... targetting him openly wasn't in the right taste. He had the audacity to target Bhajji becoz today's Cricketers are bought and sold like commodities.
Some where this needs to be checked. Money after all quite buy everything ?? Or it can produce quality .... ???
While Dravid has always been reliable in test cricket, there is a lot to be asked about Sachins contribution. The great Sachin who is also being recommended by the masses for Bharath Ratna (which is absolutely absurd) doesnt even deserve a Khel Ratna. He has only amassed scores, half centuries, centuries for his personal records and statistics. How much of them have actually translated into real match winners is highly questionable!!! Indians should stop eulogizing players like Sachin and should focus on players who are match winners or who play for the country. Nothing great about Sehwag too as he doesnt really perform when the team needs it. Most of our so-called great players click only in sub-continent conditions which is has nothing to do with real cricket.

These Sachin Bashing idiots dont have anything to say except that Sachin scored only for his personal acheivements.
Dravid scored 3 centuires in Eng for a losing cause.Do you dare to say it was also for personla records...

When it matters the most to India, your great sachin never scores or doesnt score enuf and when your great sachin scores, it doesn't matter to India!!!

Just check before this series, how many of Dravid's hundreds were for a winning cause.
Poor Sachin is criticised in every situation of the game. Below are a few examples: Dravid gets good runs in a series people say Sachin is not as mentally strong as dravid Laxman gets good runs ppl say Sachin doesn't finish games like laxman does Sehwag gets runs ppl say Sachin can't get runs at the same strike rate as sehwag Why always doubt a legend when someone else plays better than him?? Can era I'd and lax man match sehwag's strike rate ? Can sehwag show the patience of a dravid ? Sachin is the only complete modern day batsman who has a great average and strike rate in one day cricket/Has a great record in test match cricket under every possible condition/ has been top scorer in one Edition of the Ipl t20 / has the best record in world cup matches with a fantastic average and has been part of a world cup winning team.... Have sehwag dravid lax man achieved even half of this?
Re: Tendulkar phobia

Tendulkar nothing achieved anything he is just hanging the team rest everything automatically comes.
If any body plays international cricket 22 years, they could have achieved more than Tendukar.
Re: Re: Tendulkar phobia
by jagi ramesh on Aug 22, 2011 03:37 PM
A player's talent is not measured by years but by the batting/bowling average. If that's the criteria Tendulkar is better than Dravid.
Re: Re: Re: Tendulkar phobia
by rahul patil on Aug 22, 2011 06:35 PM
why compare when they both are in the team? and honestly they are both equally great in their own standards. NONE i mean NONE of us hve a right to talk or compare them. just how much knowledge do we have to comepare them? they have played for their country and or us. we should just be happy and be proud of them
Re: Re: Re: Re: Tendulkar phobia

No doubt Sachin is one of the best. But why Dravid is never given due respect? What is Sunny Gavaskar's comments on Sachin's performance in this series?
As Hussain has rightly noted (most Indians cannot) Dravid should be allowed to go on in Test Cricket. He has time and again proved that he is the best TEST BATSMAN India has ever produced; even better than Sachin and Gavaskar.
Re: Dravidb - the best
by LOL on Aug 22, 2011 03:24 PM
Gavaskar has played quite a few match winning and a lot of match saving knocks in his career at a time when there are bowlers who throw cannons and there is just a cap to protect your head! It is not wise to compare Gavaskar with any modern cricketer since none of the modern cricketers have faced fast bowling to the likes of Lilee, Thomson, Hall, Hadlee, Sobers, Holding and Roberts with no shin guard, abs gaurd or head gear for protection.
