India's obession with swing bowling continues to hurt..
by Nikhil Shah on Aug 20, 2011 02:25 AM

The selection blunder of RP Singh in the 4th Test has caused another problem since the start of the SA tour.

Jaidev Unankant was picked ahead of Umesh Yadav in the first Test in SA. This obsession with swing does not pay off. Guess who is the number one wicket taker out of the emerging players tournament in Australia?

It is the new India speedstar Varun Aaron with a 10 wicket haul. He by-passed Vinay Kumar and J Unandkant even with the old ball. I have been keeping track of this. Both Yadav and Varun were always given the old ball.

This obession with swing bowling has discouraged the aggressive mentality of fast bowling and inspite of Sreesanth and Munaf being quick like Umesh Yadav they have slowed down and become mediocre.

The case with Varun is different and it may seem like he is about 2-3 kph quicker than Ishant when he first burst into the scene.

By this time Yadav and or Varun should have been in the Indian eleven because they were the best options as compared to RP Singh.

Now what can happen to Praveen Kumar? His average with continue to rise as he get sorted out by the coaches.

No Mr Dhoni , u are Not correct ..It's Def PANIC STATION!!
by abhishek sinha on Aug 19, 2011 06:43 PM

It is not about loosing matches but the way in which Indian team has crumbled match after match is really very distressing. How low will we fall before Dhoni agrees that it is Panic station. First and foremost may I remind him that he used to advocate that only performance should be cireteria for selection into the team- so why is he still in the team. He has shown lack lusture performance both as Wicket keeper and Batsmen. He shud step down and let Youngster take over ( same language he used to drive out GANGULY,KUMBLE ..)

Is Dhoni really a Captain?
by Mature Stud on Aug 18, 2011 09:22 PM

At the end of the day, Cricket is like religion in India. And you're paid billions and your are making sure you make few more billions by endorsement and all.

In return all we're asking for some performance. Don't try to be too smart and expect other Indians to be naive and buy your crap..

Such loose talk from Captain will not do any good to get team any better..

Until Dhoni is getting paid for every match and he gets his endorsement amount, there is nothing to panic. Once these stop, he will be panicked.
