A famous astrologer predicted after india losing the 2009 world cup that a person with 'Singh' as a name will captain india to world cup victory and will fade away after that. Every body thought it would be Yuvraj, but it was Mahindra Singh Dhone. Looks like the inevitable in happening.

Losing a series may not matter but the way India lost does! Its display was spineless and pathetic! The series is heading for a clean sweep in England's favour. Some of the much lower ranked teams have put up a better fight than India!
Get a reality check,Dhoni!

true.. Srilanka toured recently and they lost by a 1-0 margin that too just becasue of 1 very bad session. Even in the match they lost, they scored 400 in the 1st inninga. And in both the other tests, they scord more than 300 on atleast 2 occassions where as India are yet to register a score of 300 even once.On the other hand England out of the 5 times they have batted have scored more than 450 on 3 occassions. Jus shows that the Indians have just been not good enough.. Its not the loss, but the kind of loss that hurts ...

Exactly - nobody would condemn the team for a narrow series loss - but abject surrender deserves a dressing down. The players are banking on their past achievements and the coach plays along because he's intimidated by the array of demi-gods he has taken `charge' of! If the rest of the bunch showed half the character of Dravid or Pravin Kumar - we may have atleast been able to hold our heads high - even in defeat! The comparison with the SL team, against the same opposition and same conditions puts the right perspective on the Indian team's performance, or lack of it!

why didn't mr. dhoni accepted that england team is much better then indian team, he has lots of excuses. real cricket is test cricket, not IPL & T20. they are trailing by 3-0, not 1-0, still he has no shame. he has no respect for his nation, so that he & his useless refuses to attend high commissioners invitation, he should be punished for his act. he is degrading his nation & tradition. see the level of intelligence he is showing in his ad films, totally irrelevant & stupid dialogues. he is even advertising for liquor firms. cricket is a gentleman's game & he is not a gentleman, he is a businessman.

Agree but it's the manner Indians lost
by Sushil Sharma on Aug 16, 2011 02:17 PM

Winning and losing are two sides of the same coin but that is not what hurts most. It is the manner the Indian Team capitulated what embarrassed me. Yet, they are still of the opinion that the current team is good. Technically they were never No 1, a position achieved by technical manipulation. The Indian Team never did beat any opposition convincingly. Let’s face it Indian team is not that good, really!!
It’s the selectors and the BCCI who were happy with their heads in the sand and were so scared of infusing younger blood into the team that they believed the good times would remain there forever and team had to merely turn up for a match to win. Whatever infusion has taken place has been through T20 and ODI’s’. Not a very scientific method to choose players to play Test matches, as proved by SR and YS. Fitness and dietary requirements for a modern team is considered superfluous by the Indian Team who still believe in BHAJIYAS, GHEE and Paranthas with Daal as staple diet.
Well, guys, wait for another 30-40 years before you see Indian Team reaching the heights they wish to reach.

To Mr. Dhoni
by indira on Aug 16, 2011 02:10 PM

Everyone knows that win and loss are part and parcel of any game. We also don't mind losing, we still support our team but the manner in which you lost was something unacceptable. It was a cowardly show. The entire team should be blamed for not anticipating what conditions to expect in England and for not preparing accordingly. Hope the team will win atleast the oval test and also the limited versions.

Yet again, this is PART OF ANGREZ PROGRAM TO BE NUMBER 1 and thus practice England team against Ireland (and figure out who is needed) to tone themselves such as to be able to beat india like how they practiced against Sri-Lanka to beat
India. Realized where they needed to improve while indian forgot what special england did against Lanka.

Why not india versus lanka unscheduled One dayer.
Angrez brains still running the show from within ICC (or ICC) even whether they are not at the top of the helm or not.

Please don't blame Angrez for your own shortcomings. It's about time Indians grew up and accepted the fact that Indians were never really that good coupled with poor planning and retention of old brigade by BCCI and the selectors.

Well, WC and Test matches completely two different forms of games. Also, winning WC in subcontinent is easier then abroad. Don’t forget winning the WC was also due to some luck on the side of Indian Team. Personally I prefer TM than ODIs’ because that is where you find out about the men. ODIs’ are merely TAMASHAS and nothing else. So, do not agree with you to be blinkered and support the Team and be patriotic. Indians need to be humble enough to accept the hiding they got and accept the criticism heaped on them. Indians need to do something constructive to put the house in order.

If you find personally TM is better that ODI, many personally likes to see ODIs. If your child gets a top rank in one subject and some other's child gets top rank in maths, you wont say your child won by just luck and so & so.. and Maths is better than any other subject, becoz you personally like it.. its Ok sometime you win, sometime you lose, and that badly. If you do not digest that stop watching that's it. Less the cricket fans, less the money they would get.

I am sorry but I do not understand what you are trying to say? It would be good if you could be a bit coherent and diligent in your comments. To say that I do not like Cricket is an insult. I like Cricket and I prefer Test Cricket. Just because you like Mickey Mouse Cricket does not mean I have to like it too.
