Stop talkin dhoni
by Mak K on Aug 18, 2011 02:30 AM

dhoni should just stop talking same old rubbish lines. it's not that by what margin india lost the series, it's how badly they lost it. heads are down, shoulders dropped.
dhoni's real test is has begun. prove it dhoni sher jaha bhi ho sher hi hota hai otherwise apni gali me to kutta bhi sher hota hai.

How Many Tests you have won ?
by Ashwin on Aug 18, 2011 12:27 AM  | Hide replies

Mr Dhini,
Can you please let us know how many tests you have won in Australia, South Africa, England, and New Zealand over the last five years? The fact of the matter is that you and your team is not capable of winning the matches in conditions where swing and pace are in plenty. Had England toured India and played with the same team against the very same Indian team you would have won most of the matches, lots of money, innocent and ignorant fans.coz all you need is flat and dead pitches and can hit centuries after centuries and create records and build batting average and success rate average

vaidya...since you believe in superlatives and comparison...let me tell yuo something....this is the worst indian series defeat in probably 3-4 decades...worse even than the indian team of the early nineties....And this team was hyped as one of the best indian teams...Has aus, nz, sa, eng lost that way so poorly???

MSD says "Shouldn't get critical of the fact that we have lost a series'

First Test, Lord's - England win by 196 runs
Second Test, Trent Bridge - England win by 319 runs
Third Test, Edgbaston - England win by an innings and 242 runs

The performance each time has deteriorated considerably and has been downhill since. with such a mental backlog how are they preparing for tomorrow ?.

One Win
by raj on Aug 17, 2011 05:16 PM

One win everyone will be silent. Sachin will be again best batsmen. Dhoni will be best captain. Indian line up will be come unbeatable. The problem is we read too much into results every time. This is the reason why there is no value for the analysis. If India want to build a strong team (Forget about Number game)Look out for 3 to 4 fast medium ( I can't expect a fast bowler in India) bowlers and 2 good spinners. We have good batting line up but Honeymoon is going to end soon . Once Dravid is out followed by Laxman and Tendulkar in couple of years we will be nowhere.Build a team rather than trying for immidiate results. If fans cry so be it for some time.

Hype and reality
by max skinner on Aug 17, 2011 01:30 PM  | Hide replies

Is there any instance where this team has actually played high quality cricket consistently on FOREIGN pitches like the Aussies in 90s and early 2000s? Scores on batsmen friendly Indian pitches aside, there are only few like Dravid, SRT, Laxman who have some sort of batting merit, slogging in 20 over matches by the youngsters is easier then test matches in non Indian conditions.

The so much hype of being no 1 is what is irritating when all you have are veterans who are out of form and so called young ones not able to do much on non Indian pitches.

It is ok not to be no 1 but proclaiming as best batting in world or being World Cup winners (on Indian soil that is) and performing like this is sure to attract lot of flak.

absolutely...the hype part is something which really pisses you off...and the most irritating of them all is the scream from the rooftop about Dhoni being cool and coool and cooooooool and what not and india winning matches on flat indian tracks because of Dhoni being cool, even when he is not performing at all

The fact is, we lost meekly, without resistance. That is what is galling. Going down without a fight is what is shaming.

India have lost the no 1 ranking the
by kalpak chandra on Aug 17, 2011 10:13 AM  | Hide replies

day they drawn a match with westindies when they were needing just 86 ruuns from 18 overs and dravid and laxman were still on crease. This is the confidence u have in ur batsmen and urself mr dhoni. and u call it a no 1 test team. And no will get angry if u lose a series but losing this way getting record defeats is will really matter.

yes. a team 'called' as no.1 couldnt beat world no.10 team wi by chasing 180 runs, was the worst case of giving credit to the hyped team. that showed the start of the complacency.

Dhoni's captaincy is the BIGGEST LIE EVER in sports
by rajkamal dubey on Aug 17, 2011 09:02 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni's so-called tactics never worked because honestly speaking, Dhonee never had any tactic at all...it was one or the other player performing in the last 3 years...Sehwag in tests, Gambhir in 2009, Kohli in ODI's this year, Raina sometime before that, Yuvraj Singh in world cup etc....That's why India won matches in the last few years.......And not because of any captaincy...captaincy is a big lie which has been perpetrated by the corrupt media...can you think beyond captaincy and count the no. of occassions when Dhoni's decision really made a difference?...if you look carefully, Dhoni had no contribution at all...Dhoni himself was the non-performer all along, quietly pocketing all glory heaped on him by a corrupt media for no reason at all...but this is where Dhoni's luck ends as it should because he is useless after all

JOKE
by P O on Aug 17, 2011 08:25 AM

Out of 11 players, only 1/2 bats well in each match. Our bowling and fielding is a tragedy without Zaheer. I guess we are missing Gary Kirsten very badly!
The irony of the situation is, we have not crossed the 300-run mark even once in 6 innings, our tail enders have batted well than the top order! Its a pity that the bowlers are doing the batsmen's job and the the batsmen fail so badly.... And again, when the bowlers r batting well instead of bowling well, how the f*u*c*k can it be a #1 team? If not getting critical at this moment, should we wait till we drop down to #8 or #9 to wake up from the deep slumber? And lesser said about the fielding, the better......
