Bowling was pathetic. If Srikkanth believes that Batting alone will save the day for him, he is probably living in fools paradise. Its always been a great disadvantage for India not to have couple of worldclass bowlers. How can one team score 700 runs against a team that is world no 1 on a bouncing and fully alive track? Sree...please do some deeper analysis instead of passing arbitrary remarks..just like how you have played in your times.....
Then why was he selected? Wasn't BCCI aware that he looked fat and out of shape and should have made him go through vigorous fitness test?
I hear from friend of mine who knows Sachin and his family that Sachin never been to the single practice session or to Gym, since the finish of worldcup. And he went straight to England to play Test cricket..
For such important series, aren't the BCCI and players should be smarter and make sure we're extra prepared to battle and retain our ranking?
Look at Australia and England, they're playing cricket none stop and not a single player complaining about fatigue.
We're the only one talk about fatigue. The biggest issue with our players is their off field activity, such as endorsments and commercial shoot which restricts them concentrating on the cricket..
What a revelation! It really had to come from a former Test player, and the Chairman of the selection committee! An ordinary person could hardly have deduced it.
Yes. The recent debacle in England is caused by US downgrade by Standard & Poor. However, our cricket fundamentals are very strong, domestic market (IPL) is excellent, and banking system can meet any demand of players.

Did BCCI and Shrikant allow the players to adapt to the conditions in England and spend more time.. NO.. becos everyone is busy in IPL.. Entire BCCI needs rotten eggs and tomato's on their face..

I tend to agree, I think he was fully riding the one day wave that had its beginning in early 80s. His lack of technique were thoroughly exposed when WI toured Indian immediately after the WC. Only player who proved himself in that series was Kapil Dev. I ve always regarded Srikanth to be a master relationship person, and managed to stay in the team mixing his form between one days and tests. I would not think he would have had a chance even 5 years after he got into Indian team (in 1981?)
