dhoni always excuses
by vinay on Aug 14, 2011 12:38 AM  | Hide replies

"Being a team sport, the team has to play well."
then y do u get credit for the team wins?
dhoni has no ckting skills as bat worse keepr n now seen as the worse capt.
kapil won wc in 1983 but after defeat against wi he was removed from captaincy. if player with stature of kapil can b removed d_h_o_b_i is nobody against him.
bcci is trying to get scape goat for the loss. n has found one in coach fletcher coz thats easy way out as they cant 'touch' their most reputed players.

agreed abt his failure. but cant blame him only. ultimately dhoni has to lead the team n his players hv to perform. but cant blame coach only.

Duncan is with the team for only 2 months. Why blame him?

Do you think Sachin, VVS< Gambhir needs coaching? If they can't perform, nothing coach can do

Invest in lively pitches, stout pace bowlers- this is the solution
by cc man on Aug 14, 2011 12:23 AM

Our bowlers does know what is consistent good length pitched fast/spin bowling, our indian fast/spin bowlers have been like this always wherever they go.

The thing is English/Aus/SA fast bowlers always bowl(with seam, swing, bounce, pace) consistently around center of good length area on the 22yd pitch whereas our bowlers never know/kew what does that mean and never bowl consitently there even if they knew/know it. They just run and bang it in one dimensional way(mostly wayward on the legside,middle/off,overpitched,short etc) with no brain etc. Especially Sreeshath is perfect example of wayward one dimensional bowling etc

On top of that, our bowlers never have the habit to learn from english/SA bowlers(Anderson,Steyn,Broad etc) by watching their videos, and rectify their mistakes and learn new things if any.

Having world class bowlers in the will help batsmen a lot to tune their weaknesses in the nets and play well in real match situation

the main reason behind this humilating defeat ,is BHRASTACHARI CRICKET CONTROL BOARD OF INDIA. this is the most corrupt association of politicians & industrialist.the never ending greediness of them is the main reason.I hope Shri Anna Hazare will raise this issue also

You were outplayed by your lack of comitment
by Mature Stud on Aug 13, 2011 11:53 PM

I still can't digest Sachin's run out. I watched the replay over and over, I just can't believe how casually he was coming back and groundign his bat home. I mean some one of his experience can be so lousy when the game and #1 ranking on line and he was the last savior left?

What is VVS doing with his lazy attotude in the field and not carrying beyond 30-40 runs.

This series was lost because of lack of commitment of seniors players, except Dravid.

Zaillions of Rs. showered on these players, and they just slept into comfy life and forgot what brought them where they're today..

Pay them only 10% of match feww and other 90% should be performance based. They're already making tons in endorshments..

Laxman and Zaheer Khan
by Aditya on Aug 13, 2011 11:51 PM  | Hide replies

If you go through all our recent wins in Test or where we saved a Test, it has been primarily because of a class Test player called Laxman. Laxman is the messiah of second innings for Indian cricket. It was impossible to get him out in the second innings for past few years. It was only because of his efforts that the other Indian players have been able to bask the glory of winning match after match. Who can forget how he along with Ishant Sharma saved the Test match against the Aussies.
Now when he is not able to perform, India is losing and all the players are running for cover. Another player who single handedly wins India test matches with his bowling is Zaheer Khan. He can rout any damn team in the world with his bowling in second innings.
Take Laxman and Zaheer out of the Indian test team and we are a spineless team, whose batsmen get out of mere pressure and whose bowlers get thrashed to all parts of the ground. In fact Zaheer Khan plays a very important role in field placing for himself as well as for the other bowlers. Without Zaheer, Dhoni doesnot know where to place the fielders.
Indian test team is dependent on only two individuals and that is the bitter truth

Very well put. Dhoni and Sachin get all the accolades but VVS and Zaheer are seldom recognized. Just look at the endorsements under their belts to gauge the truth of this statement.

Absolutely correct.

On a lighter note, both Zaheer and Laxman are not photogenic enough for commercials.

Aditya:

Such faulty analyses is what we least deserve....

Or are you telling us that Laxman decided to hand you a 0-3 drubbing as he stopped liking you? :)

by samit on Aug 13, 2011 11:50 PM  | Hide replies

DHONI IS SUCH AN INCAPABLE BATSMAN HE CANNOT PLAY AGAINST GOOD BOWLING, AVERAGES 10 RUNS IN SOUTH AFRICA AND AUSTRALIA.

NOW HE GOT SOME RUNS ON LAST DAY AGAINST A SPINNER IN SWANN, AND HE CAN CLAIM HE PLAYED HIS INNINGS WELL.

HE KEEP MAKING FOOL OF INDIANS AND MAKING HIS CRORES NOW.

WORST WICKET KEEPER BATSMAN EVER

Yes, Dhoni is effective in Indian conditions. But any student of batsmanship can tell you that Dhoni's technique is non-existent, and this shows up clearly on the swinging pitches outside India.

Dhoni & Sachin didn't contribute as expected. Poor bowling quality. Venkatesh Prasad need to be back as bowling coach. Bowling quality need to be improved.

totally agree with you, people like robin singh & venkatesh prasad are not given due importance, they are far better than many of the so called foreign coaches.

"Losing a series is something that you can't guarantee,"Mr.Dhoni may have forgotten this resolve for this series and played throughout the 3 matches as though a 5th day was not needed. If he feels that his team has not played well for 3 straight matches he has to quit as captain and not blame the batters and bowlers as a cermon. The Seniors must stand up on their toes(if they have not been crushed already in this series) either to deliver or disappear.
