Indian does not have sports culture despite cricket is no-1 sport in India more then 60-70% cricket followers have no right knowledge of the game. that is why if any one make runs in 20-20 they will start saying yaar itne aache player hai India mein but they don't get chances. look what happened to Raina and Yuvraj they can not play test cricket because of very poor tech. when India lost first test i saw most of the bloggers were writing keep raina and bring Yuvi this is the knowledge of Indians they compare this two dhakkans with sachin.
Don't forget ... The ENGLISH invented the game called cricket. The English taught us the game and today they have reclaimed their rightful spot and are most probably going to cling on to that NO.1 spot for long.
We worked very hard to reach NO.2, just 1 rank below the inventors of the game.
Look at the way the Englishmen play the game in white dresses on green grounds and look at the way they clap for all players, be it from any team - Their crowds are so knowledgeable and so decent, not like the one sided Indian junglee crowds who shout only for Indians and be silent when other team scores good shots or takes good wickets or fields etc..
All teams other than England are mere PYJAMA cricketers playing in all sorts of colorful clothing and pyjamas in the shorter and super shorter versions of the game merely for crores of money.
When it comes to REAL CRICKET - Real fast swing bowling, strategic thinking (like how Kevin Pietersen let the ball for four to keep Dhoni off strike and bring Sreesanth) , field setting , planning to attack and play aggressive like bowling ast Sreesanth's ribcage or attacking the batsmen with bouncers, the ENGLISH always do it.
We are only fit for playing GULLY cricket, which is NOT REAL CRICKET.
We can win Tests on slow, dead pitches in India and Asia without any fast bowling. Our batsmen look like tigers and we get No.1 ranking. BUt when we go to West Indies or England we struggle to win 1 Test match out of 6. But yes we are amazing

WE ARE NOT EVEN NO-2 BUT NO-3 NOW LET THIS SERIES FINISH. ENGLAND JUST SHUFFLED THE PLACE WITH INDIA WITHOUT DISTURBING SOUTH AFRICANS.

English conditions are very favourable or swing bowling and as usual our batsmans are too much habitual to play stroke outside of the off stump, and hence no expert is required to tell the story. Moreover out pacemen also failed to take advantages of the conditions in abscence of Zaheer. English team really work hard to get the spot and they really deserve it the way they beat aussies also on their own soil.

It is not that our batsman can not play in moving conditions I am talking about sachin, laxman and dravid all three can play in any conditions other wise sachin did not have 6 centuries in England yesterday also when everyone was struggling sachin was playing rock soild but got run out. when your luck and time is bad everything goes wrong.

We are nearing Independence Day. So we are showing the non violent approach. Not bowl any bouncers or attack the Englishmen, while they continue to attack and bowl at batsmen into the rib cage, stomach, on the heads and even breaking a few fingers and sending a few people back home to India.
We are a peace loving country. We should not play TEST cricket. We should play only T20 and One Day, because in these types of cricket, bouncers are called WIDES and its peaceful cricket, where batsmen are given POWERPLAY and all that , where bowlers are always made to give FREE runs , like FREE HIT etc.. to batsmen.
We better become No.1 in non violent cricket. Why should we expose our gentle cricketers to all this kind of violent bowling. Send only spinners and see if that can work. Let 4 spinners play in next test match. Finish it fast , do some nice shopping , get some foreign stuff to India and relax. Prepare for CRORES of money in the T20 Champions League. Let best spinners like Ashwin and all play. Dont make them tired playing for country in England etc... Play peaceful, earn good money.

This is just rubbish argument. it is not that english team has not struggled in own conditions. just last tour India beat them in their own back yard. they lost 5-0 to Australia in Australia now also if this same englisgh team comes to India just after 40-50 days they will loose 3-0-4-0 i can have any amount of bet with you. cause they can not play on Indian slow tracks.

Good point MAJOR Saab. I totally agree with you. But if you watched the live telecast yesterday, one of the expert commentators mentioned "It was like a match between School Boys and MEN".
Its not about LOSING, Its about getting HUMILIATED and losing by mammoth margins without even putting up a semblance of a fight.
We are taking it lying down Sir. We are not bowling even a single bouncer and our selectors dont want to even give YOUNG Players a chance. FRESH LEGS sitting in India, while oldies above 35 years playing tired cricket for us, as if we dont have any more cricketers back home in population of 1 billion.
We are showing the world that by missing ZAHEER KHAN we are missing someone as lethal as Malcolm Marshall or Holding or even Dennis Lillee. As if no other bowler can replace this LEGEND of India. Too much of hype and little result.
LOSING so horribly is what hurts us. As No.1 team we should fight hard and lose not lose like this...First match we lost by 200 some runs, 2nd Test lost by some 300 plus runs and now still worst 3rd test we were totally annhilated and humiliated by 200 plus runs and an innings - an innings defeat. The MANNER OF LOSING - getting bad, badder and baddest in our performances each match is what is disgusting.

You laud the very same English crowd that started booing IMMEDIATELY when the Indian players walked out to the ground after tea before even seeing whether or not Bell's decision was withdrawn or not!
Each and every individual of the team and the team as a whole stands thoroughly exposed. shame on them! we call them greats when they can't perform in alien atmospheres and can only perform in flat home pitches. what happened to our great pace bowlers? they looked pedestrian and hardly posed any threat. Ishant and Harbajan deserve to be dropped. Let Tendulkar call it a day. We can not give him series after series to score his 100th ton. Dhoni looked bereft of ideas and save for the final test, looked thoroughly out of sorts with the bat. Why is it always the TN players made the scapegoats? while the whole team failed, why drop Mukund alone? Mukund is a lot better than Raina when it come to test cricket. They proved, they're not Gods or Heros as they made out to be and are mere mortals. Failure in an innings is ok and is understandable. failing time and again can not be digested by any means. Team India has shown the world that, they don't deserve to be world No.1 at all.
Re: No.1 only in home conditions...
by Ashish Sharma on Aug 14, 2011 12:33 PM
That's what we can call English Team as well, No. 1 in home conditions. Teams like australia and england who score and win on bouncy and fast wickets, it's surprising to see how they lose matches and series on the so called 'slow and dead' Indian wickets, if it's that easy to score in slow turning wickets.
Wickets around the globe are mostly fast, unlike Indian wickets, which means odds against India are very high to be no.1, unlike aussi, english or SA teams, still they achieved it for a long period.
So, we can't downgrade Indian teams capability. But yes, they way they were under-prepared for this tour, that's a point of concern.

Dressing room atmosphere, new coach and the players' negative mindset are the reasons for the dismal performance. Indians never wanted the game to proceed to the last day and ensured they surrendered before the the end of 4th day.
Getting thrashed in this series has created a lot of furore and possibly national disenchantment. That is not good for a country already suffering from all kinds of problems. It's time to waive the "be-happy-don't worry" wand all over again. Lets accept the reality. We were never really number one at Test Cricket.A combination of circumstances and a huge slice of luck got us into the number one position...but our players were totally incapable. Yet, T 20 is another story! Our gillidandites are masters at this . So why not use our money power and our natural talent to corrupt others and convert cricket to a shortened form of the game? IPL should be over encouraged..in fact get another team of promoters and have the recent retirees of test cricket as experts to promote T10...and a few years later T5. Make everyone happy.
Re: The IPL paradigm
by aneesh karthik on Aug 14, 2011 01:01 PM
Incapable is a very wrong word here! Of course, they are capable. The Indian players are being overexerted, the schedule is tight. Other nations don't play even two-thirds the amount of cricket Indians play. You'll understand only if you play the game, and get subjected to these tight schedules.
Correction! It's F5 not T5. And the idea of T10, F5 are all a MOCKERY of cricket!
All the players are concerned only about money fetching IPL and not bothered about test cricket. IPL can get them more endorsements and commercials. Stop IPL, we will see, they all strive hard to get to the test side by reducing their waistline, improving their fielding and focusing on batting and bowling techniques.
