lets give dhoni a break for losing his first test series and not murder the team after 3 test losses.. its quite unfair how easily critics write u off after winning so much.. did any critic mention wat england have won majorly

england at their best n india was really at their lowest pt by the time they got to england.. and even zimbabwe would have been tough tour rit now as indian team is burnt out.
on an other tour.. the result would have been much different.. so beating a tired opponent is not a true victory.. even if ur at ur best

well played india
by karunakar choudhary on Aug 14, 2011 02:09 PM

english team played good cricket, which is to be accepted. we have to stop depending too much on sehwa, dravid, tendu, laxman, Zak and to develop new players for test cricket which is a naked truth and to be accepted. ok we lost our ranking but this is not the end of the world. englishmen also lost so many matches with australia, WI, India but they developed a team suitable for their conditions.so selection committe should go for new talent and train them. spend money on nurturing players insted on cheerleaders(sharad pawar)

Englis captain said they work hard to get top position in test cricket but fact is that team India has given this position to England without any terms & conditions.

India have lost the series and the No. 1 ranking. Agreed. England are now No. 1 in ranking. Earlier it was with Australia and then India and now England. It will be another country after some time. This is a game and no body can be No.1 ALL THE TIME - YEAR AFTER YEAR. There is no use bad mouthing Team India. They will and are capable of retrieving the No. 1 ranking. Take any sports or anything in life for that matter. The ups and downs are there changing hands. It is the spirit with which you take the downs that matter. Keep cool. Keep supporting Team India.

The english side has depth in batting. They bat upto no 9. Not so with other teams. Aussies have problems in batting. But their bowling and fielding are fine. If they settle their batting issues it will be great rivalry with the english side again for top honours. Difficult to see India anywhere near them.

appreciate their play and raise. At the same time, condemn our boys for their lackluster play. They have taken for granted their supremacy after winning the world cup, which many say was fixed. Further, our players in greed for money have played 286 days cricket out of 365 days, last year. The team look pathetic and wary.

TOP RANKING
by THOMAS SEBASTIAN on Aug 14, 2011 01:27 PM  | Hide replies

that India got was more by default. We were never the ruthless and efficient side. Those who are cribbing about lack of preperation by India for this tour should watch out for India's tour of Australiain Dec. India goes staight into the test series. Not a single game prior to that. Bunch of nincompoops are drawing up schedules at BCCI.

Read Ian Chappell's article in Hindustan times dated 14 aug 2011.
He calls it as truthful as can be.
In past Ian may have called it wrong but reading today's article it seems what he is saying is going to happen, it is also on cricinfo

Most worrying is that India has problems in all departments. Bowling and fielding were always a problem. Now batting is also falling apart. Compare this to Aussies. Aussies have fallen from the high pedestal, but they still have firepower in bowling and have always been a good fielding unit. Batting is their only problem.
