Bloody Disgrace
by Inzy Bhai on Aug 13, 2011 12:09 PM  | Hide replies

This Indian team is the biggest disgrace of all time. This is gutter cricket at its worst. No self respecting individual would want to be associated with a bunch of losers. They have debased & made a mockery of their no. 1 status which they are now handing out on a platter. This is not to take anything away from the Englishmen. They have played with their hearts on their sleeve & shown to the world what top flight cricket really is. Our cricketers should be taken to task after this series & punished. As a first step all their bonuses & monies earned from the World Cup should be withdrawn. This is what greed has done to our national side. Probably reflects the state of our nation today!!

now i am agreed with you. but still i will blame BCCI for this entire mess. so many reasons behind this not just too much of cricket. when we are small time cricketer can see the talent why a man like shreekant can't see just because he himself was a bloody ordinary cricketer.

Time to Quit

It's time for several of our senior players to retire gracefully rather than clinging on just to shore up their chances at IPL. Younger players can at least chase the ball fast.

What does Mr. Boycott know about
by piri on Aug 13, 2011 12:04 PM  | Hide replies

the wealthiness of the Indian players ? Does he really know that the Indians are probably a hundred times wealthier than the English players ?

Does Boycott know that the 'great' Indian middle class drools en masse over cricket inanities such as the IPL and the make-believe world of 'Cricket-Bollywood' associations in 'glamour' ?? Does Boycott understand that this 'great Indian middle class' will go on enriching the Indian cricket players by continuing to lap up everything about the IPL, even at very high cost to their over-strained purses ??

And perhaps most relevantly, does Mr. Boycott sense the extent to which the English players are 'deprived' of such attention in their country ??

Indain viewers should boycott Champions League!
by sanjay gupta on Aug 13, 2011 12:01 PM

What purpose does this tournament serve and whom does it benefit except BCCI & the players monetarily. They don't want to play for India in WI, but will all participate in the Champion's league. Some will pick-up more injuries during this tournamnet and will not be available for future Indian selections. We as viewers should vouch that we'll not watch or follow the CL, the tounament will automatically fizzle out. I, despite being an avid cricket fan, am not going to watch CL.

Spare a thought for Dravid!
by sanjay gupta on Aug 13, 2011 11:56 AM  | Hide replies

In this nation obsessed with swashbuckling players like Sehwag, Dhoni, Kohli, Raina etc everyone tends to overlook the importance of "The Wall". This tour has once again separated the "men from the boys". We all paid tribute to the great Tendulkar when India won the world cup, but conveniently forgot the like of Rahul Dravid. He is too good a player not to be included in the One day side, especially overseas. Now that we're looking at the reality of our "young guns" not lasting 50 overs in England, he is drafted back in the team. Srikant never had any class in his batting and he doesn't seem to understand it either.

Don't say "men from the boys" rather "men from these loafers".

My dear friend, you needs to understand that tests and ODI’s are different kettle of fish. While we have green wickets for test matches, and dravind is a absolute necessity, ODI’s are invariably played on good batting tracks as otherwise matches would be over in 2 hours and no authorities would want that. Dravid is a great test player but would eat up too many balls before he scores. Again, if dravid plays his normal game, we would end up making not more than 200 which would won easily by England. The selectors should have gone in for ODI specialists and not test match specialists.

Boycotts comment
by Narendra Shekhawat on Aug 13, 2011 11:50 AM

Boycotts comments are bed. India was nomber one team as per system laid down by ICC and no body says that the system is wrong. India was nomber one not declared by themselves. Moreover one series can be bad for any team. What had happened when England were 5-0 in last one day series with India.

Sachin - Biggest Failure
by aman malhotra on Aug 13, 2011 11:45 AM

I believe in this series...especially after the 1st test defeat...there was an opportunity for 1 cricketer to put his hand up and re energize this team...Sachin Tendulkar...playing that flashy game that we used to associate with him...that would have sent the fight back to the English camp and given a positive message...I think flamboyance was needed...it might have come from the likes of Yuvraj, Raina etc but that never came...For me, Sachin was the biggest failure of this tour coz he and probably no other cricketer, not even the captain Dhoni, could have provided that spark which Tendulkar with his overall personna could have provided ...he failed to live upto his reputation of a senior cricketer when Team India needed him the most !...Sad but true...

wihout sachin and laxman India will loose at home also. first find the replacement then talk. this yuvraj and raina will replace sachin? both can't see the short pitch ball didn't you see how both got out. getting out on good bowl is ok but getting out like that is a shame on a test cricketer.
