No. 1 team
by Dhaval Vyas on Aug 12, 2011 02:11 AM  | Hide replies

Indian team does not deserve to be no.1 as they are too casual in their effort and take every game as though they have taken for granted that they cannot be beaten, which is not a trademark of a champion side. If you look at the old WI team and the Aus. team that was lead by Ricky Ponting, they never gave their opponents a chance to dominate or very seldom did that happen. However, the current Indian team is just playing as they dont care about being no.1 and rightly so, with this attitude they wont go any far with their no.1 rank and will only fall far below the rest. Dont think the selectors are worried about that either. They are happy hosting the IPL and even the senior players are happy playing IPL forgetting that Test cricket is a class apart wherein you represent your country.
Today's performance shows that no one (from the Indian side, apart from a selected few like Praveen Kumar)is even interested in Test cricket.

I agree with you. The IPL, though a splendid commercial product, is eating Indian cricket inside-out like cancer. It has to be managed properly otherwise India will fall so low in the test rankings that it's scaring me. The possibility of India becoming the next WI (the current team) is real. C'mon man, Zimbabwe has better bowlers and batsmen than India.

That moron Praveen Kumar is not fit for test cricket along with Dhoni, Raina, Sharma etc. Let them play for Kolkata Killers, or Chennai Rascals, or Bangalore Bondas. Who cares ! I am a slave to test cricket and I am proud to be a test cricket fan. I don't wish to see spineless losers like these clowns.

You are right, but I think Praveen Kumar was the only bowler, who was sincerely trying to take wickets, but due to the lack of pace, he went for runs. Wonder! in a country of 100M people, they cannot get at least 1 all rounder like Kapil and two genuine fast bowlers who can consistently bowl over 140 to 150 K. This is just not understandable.

Mediocre Indians
by Jay on Aug 12, 2011 02:04 AM  | Hide replies

Shame on those Indians who STILL support this team. Shame on all you losers. Not only is the team losing, it's losing WITHOUT integrity, dignity, effort, perseverance. This is totally unacceptable in all walks of life. Failure is excusable only if you tried hard to pass. These useless Indians deserve no respect from fans. Tendulkar, well I feel sorry for those who worship this moron. Go on pin every shiny medal to his chest, call him Bharat Ratna, Khel Ratna, Padmashri etc but he's a BIG LOSER in my opinion. He will get dog sh*t in my books.

Praveen Kumar and co. must be hit with shoes by the fans next time they leave their hotel rooms. I have lost all my respect towards these clowns. England must thrash them 4-0. Kris Srikkanth can kiss my a**.

I have to disagree with you there man. We did lose the 2008 australia series 2-1 BUT many Indians including myself were happy because the team fought like warriors both on and off the field. That defeat to me is more like a victory. This series now is a disgrace to the game itself. Nobody ridicules anyone if they play well and lose. Certainly not me. I am more mature to draw the line between mediocrity and sincerity. This Indian team has lost it totally. Hell, they don't even deserve to be called mediocre.

His comments on Indian team attitude in the field..

" VVS Laxman has his hands in his pockets more often than out, Mahendra Dhoni's keeping has been sloppy and even the usually reliable Rahul Dravid dropped two slip catches."

How accurate and precise he is.. He forgot to mention Sachin who failed to stop two boundries because he just couldn't dive or run harder..

Bedi was right,India should have played with 5 bowlers. No use playing Raina when u know he cannot play short ball bowled by Boycot's mom, atleast we will have some chance of restricting enland batting under 300.Raina is Dhony ka chamca costing heavily to Indian team

Sachin - retirement
by cc man on Aug 12, 2011 01:15 AM  | Hide replies

Its high time in the interest of his ownsake and cricket fraterniy, Sachin retire from international cricket especially ODI and T20 considering the fact that he has been unable to make any match winning or match saving knocks at such a senior age since last few matches in all forms of the game. Every match he plays as if its a first match for him with lot of tentativeness, nervous, shuffling around offstump, does not dominate the opposition attack especially in lively pitch conditions, good quality fast bowling etc

Ok all that is fine - it still will not help India bowl out England twice.

Sachin is like communist - he would nopt retire unless he is kicked out. But who will do the kicking? the moron selectors who collectively could not even match 50% of Dravid and has the cheek to insult him and "use & throw" him when they need him! Dravid is the only character in the team who has the integrity and guts to call these jokers. Sachin was, is and always will be conformist - never had any spine of his own, never has any standing on any issues - if baba Thakrey slams; he bundles out.

I do not understand why Ashwin, Virat Kolhi are not tried instead Raina and Amit. Virat is much better than Raina, and Ashwin has got bit more than Amit.

Check the stats of Kohli in the Windies - Failed.

The English bowlers are much better than Rampaul and Edwards and Bishoo.

and Sachin is playing for 20 years and still doesn't know how to bat in England. Also his fielding today was for everyone to see..

Why do we need him?
