IPL killing test cricket, test cricket is not pinnacle now, no one is bothered to play test cricket and day will come no one will be interested in 50/50, just 20/20. Therell be no urge to play for national teams once they are getting more money in IPL. Thats a begining to the end of cricket, start CRICHIT, There is no bowlers, batsmen will take charge of bowling, part timers will be called allrounders. I think thats life, move on.....
Some of you idiots on this forum keep speaking how money corrupts people !! God I would like to see people like you work in a job that pays NOTHING. And then come to this same rediff and tell me how you feel. Use your brains before commenting. Malinga has done the right thing. Test cricket is the danger for cricket. It's long, boring, played across 5 days with a doubtful result; especially when it's played in India or the sub-continent. Add to that, ridiculous and meaningless scheduling by the ICC etc. The list goes on and on. The IPL is what's going to save face for cricket. T20 is the ONLY format that can globalize cricket and it's the only format cricket newbies will watch. Good on you Malinga. I hope many other players will be sensible like you and play T20 and 50 over cricket instead of the boring, colonial test cricket.

Jay-wanta, why would you work for nothing ? Do you work for nothing ? I suppose you do. My sympathies are with you. Hope you get some role to play in the IPL. Ball boy, paani-walla, towel holder. It'll all pay more than NOTHING surely

Jay - no one says he is doing the wrong thing. But 5 day cricket is a bore ? Purely your opinion you mean ? So why do you get so upset at other people's opinion about everything ?
5 days of continuous cricket brings down young indians productivity and it makes indins to sit down infront of TV and watch cricket all through out the 5 days. Please ban this 5 days of continuous match and save india.

arre Maama, Indians will sit in front of a TV anyway watching 'Saas bhi kabhi bahu thi','Upvaas', charchas and singing competitions. Productivity waise bhi zero hai.
