@Steve jobs Those people are big idiots who dont see this, including you!!US and West are as much Christian Economic powers as anything else you would like to call them -secular,democratic,modern..blah,blah!!What do you call the phenomenon of Indians getting richer and hence so much clout coming to BCCI as - Indian Muslims becoming financially strong or Indian Christians becoming financially strong suddenly? As I said earlier, you will be idiot & stupid if you dont recognise the real financial power behind the happenings!!There is no such thing as Secular money - its either Hindu or Muslim or Christian money dominant in different areas of the world, with India having preeminently dominannt Hindu community which is economically too superior to other communities!I accept all communities may/may not be so enthusiastic about Cricket but the huge domiinant factor is Hindu community's complete backing!!I dont understand why we should shy away & hesitate from recognising this, which is self evident!!

Everyone plays for money
by Di Pi on Apr 23, 2011 02:10 PM  | Hide replies

The game Cricket is for money, no one plays for country, no one organizes for Country. Even Indian Cricketers playing IPL will not go for test matches. Reason - too much cricket.
I stopped watching Cricket years back when Club cricket came in.
FIAT had a terrible time disposing CARs with Sachin's signature- sold at huge discounts finally. Any product promoted by cricketers and Cricket itself, should be boycotted.

IPL means Indian paise le javo. This is only money oriented game. This IPL will spoil all format of cricket. See Malinga, he want to continue in IPL. Gayle of wes indies. Acting as injury there and playing here and making century. This is only examples. In future all the players will be in same route. No test and IOD only IPL

So what? Who want to see all these boring 5 days game that more often than not, ends in a tame draw?

Sports is meant to entertain, not bore the hell out of you. If not for 20-20, I don't see cricket surviving in the 21st century. Who want to waste their 5 days watching 80% of the time a bowlter walking to and from his bowling crease and most of the remaing time a batsman blocking his deliveries. This is not sports, this is just bore. If this can be called any sort of test, it is only the test of our patience.

Also what difference it makes if someone play for the country or club? Most successful team sports are played at club level and rarely at country level. Who want to see and India - Ausralia deplomatic crisis again when an Indian player call an australian, something in Hindi? IPL can better unite people across countries and races. That is what sports is meant to do, entertain and unite people. IPL does it better without fake patriotism.

Finally about money. IS it really a bad word? Talk to last generation of first class cricket who spent their best years playing Ranji cricket and end up with no savings. You have no problem when pop stars and film stars earn millions, when soccer/ tennis stars does the same. Then why not cricketers? They are in the same field of entertainment, they deserve the same rewards!

Due, this is a simple question of demand and supply. There is demand for instant cricket, no matter whether you like it or not, teams will play. Get real!

these greedy idiots retire from test cricket because there is not much money in test cricket any more; the loot is in the odis and the 20 20. they won't retire from that format.ganguly, warne, murali and the rest of these idiots are all doing the same thing.

may be its true in case of others...but warne had retired well before IPL started and Malinga was never a test player.. he has just played 3 tests in the last 4 years..so may be his case is genuine and he cant bowl 15-20 overs in a day...

LOL.. so what are you selfless idi0t doing? They are free people and play whatever they want. Test cricket is not a charity that needs support from people. It is a sports event and will survide only if people are interested in it. If most people find it bore, there wont be any money and noone will be interested to play it. This is not something that needs protection from being extinct. It is a slow time waste which accounts for major part or our poor productivity. No country that watches a 5 full days game can progress. If there is some intervention required in test cricket, it should be to ban it!

Mr.Sood, even you would leave your current profession and play in the IPL if given a chance. There's nothing wrong in quick money if earned legally...
