Infact 'Guru' Gary deserves not just a Padma award but a Dronacharya award, for the simple reason that he took on a challenging role and moulded a team into a world class side...winning 20-20 , No. 1 test team and now One day world champions. Definitely he is a sure shot candidate for Drona charya award just the same way, sachin deserves a Bharat Ratna, never mind the fact that Gary has now quit after the world cup triumph
As this dronacharya has brought back smiles in millions of indian faces - both in india & abroad - he deserves more than this. There are no words to express our feelings as we saw our young guns firing at all sides in the final - a match which most of us lost hope during the intial stage. Ram (Nigeria)
While the players deserve all the recognition & rewards, it was indeed the EXCELLENT coaching of Mr. Kirsten that brought the TEAM TOGETHER to Match winners. We had great players like Sachin, Rahul, VVS but Gary molded the players into a Match Winning Team. Mr. Kirsten's non-controversial approach & the grooming of younger players went a long way in making India a Winning Team. The 2011 World Cup victory is to be dedicated to him for the performance of the Team he coached. He deserves the respect & gratitude of the entire Nation.
Thank you for what you have done, Mr. Kirsten. We will miss you & wish you the best in the future. You have brought the Indian Team to the Top. It is now up to the Team to ensure they stay at the Top for years to come.
