Yesterday we lost two jawans in Kashmir . Has Tendulkar or Dhoni performed any better ?
Maybe I am wrong comparing the two but then a colonel dying fighting to save the country deserves a Ratna before a sportsman .
Bharat Ratan is not meant to be given to sportsmen when it comes of sports it has to be khel ratan nothing more .
Its totally uncalled for and I am sure Indians will respect the benchmarks which have been framed .
Tendulkar deosnt deserve it . He played WC six times and has failed consistently in all pressure matches including WC -2011 finals .
We Must felicitate the captain instead of him and set an example for the sportmen of Future .
If anyone deserves a Bharat Ratan in this country he should be an Indian Soldier and not a sportsman .The dignity of this honour needs to be maintained .

god help india .This statement reflects the sad state of this country whose youth dont want to join armed forces and want players to be felicitated better than its soldiers .
Gary should be felcitated by the Indian Government for his contibution to Indian Sports, but let us not get carried away. There are 70 Crore Indian's who can afford only one meal a day. Let us tell the world cup winning team to play charity matches and raise funds for our poor brother's and sister's in our country. The players are paid by the BCCI, so there is no need to be showered by gifts. Whatever we earn from the charity matches let a part of it say 10% should be paid to the players and the coach Gary. Let us not waste poor Indian tax payers money to gift the cricketer's. One more appeal to fellow Indians and that is "The no of people who kept a track of World cup in our country, if these people come for the next election to vote. I am sure that we will have stable and non corrupt Government working to remove poverty and injustice in our country".

Well said. gary is done his job for what he has paid. There are more people who's contrubution to our country is more than gary and they deserve padmashree.
Guru Kirsten deserves are Dronacharya Award. I am not sure if Padma Shri would be appropriate.
Also, I don't understand why people are against Cricket. Yes the world cup had only 14 teams, but ICC has 104 members: 10 Full Members that play official Test matches, 34 Associate Members, and 60 Affiliate Members. Even US has a team. It is really sad that we Indian pull down this sport.

dear falak, its baseless dicussion leave it. we enjoy fours and sixes as much as a movie so lets it be upto that. rewards is not in our hands or decision but in hands of non-performer who has strength of money and lobby. let us be as we are and keep ourselves honest to our heart. bless yourself for a beautiful life and carry on to happiness without hampering anything.

dear, richness is no guilt but corruption. corruption is india's birth right - if you want to object your life gone. right! if you know how corrupted we have been. we do ghatala of thousands and thosands of crore and is placed beside our pm or president with strength of that money while a beggar is slapped and put in jail with 'thief' stamp for lifting a bread. hopeless dear, just carry on life as easy as you can and try to be honest to yourself.

Bossss, after the Bharat Ratna was given to MGR & I think NTR too... I think it hardly matters it is given to anyone - Sachin, Kapil or even Gary Kirsten....
