he will not quit till he finishes his 100 th century..he is cunning guy he knows tht well..otherwise anyone wud have announced his retirement..i dont know what is the big achievement in this..there are lots of batsman having 55 avg in tests and 44 avg in ODI...there are lot of players who are playing cricket for 15-20 years...how is he different from others..for example bradman's avg is 99.96 his next avg is 56..see the difference bettween bradman's batting and his peers..how different is sachin??

Oh by the way, you're completely wrong. Sachin averages 56.94 in Tests, not 55 odd. On ODI's, he averages 45.16 (not 44 odd) @ SR of 86.32
There are lots of batsman with such averages? How about you name us some? Go ahead, we are waiting.

you are right .Sachin is not retiring after getting the world cup 2011. he will continue to play unless his son has to come in the ground for the playing the cricket in place of him.

Difference is in no other team all team members will say this win is dedicated to sachin..that shows he is much more than just a player..he is inspiration to others in the team

A lot of people curse 'Bengalis' saying that they refuse to see anything beyond their own region. Being on Rediff MB's for a long time, I can honestly say that rather it's 'Bengalis' who are the sensible onces and who don't go around hating other players just because they belong to a different state.
On one hand Sachin say he plays for Country... and then say's he will continue " Till HE Gets Enjoyment" this is Contradiction or clearly means he actually plays for HIS OWN enjoyment and his 'patriotism" is just "Show-off". Best thing for him is retirement.. He has won the world cup after 6 attempts. Lot of people can Play at an average of 56 in Test and 44 in ODI . He need NOT worry about Country IF he actually plays for country.

He needs to quit ASAP...or needs to be asked to leave...sadly no One can Throw him out in this country...He's always played for Himself...very typical..

What rubbish....show me one player in world cricket who has an average of 55 in test cricket and 45 in ODI cricket and then talk....and if he is selfish he can rather play T20 jsut like english players do...why the bloody hell he needs to face steyn n Morkel in those tough South African conditions?

Yeah...it's all just about averages Innit??...so far as he is concerned...if he has come self respect...he should quit when at the top...You want people saying "Why Now" rather that "Why Not"...but the guy is shameless...as are all other Indian cricketers both past & present..

Adalrich Kauffman:
In fact any sportsperson who takes the second attempt at anything - a Ronaldo playing his second match, or a Federer playing his second match, or a Ponting playing his second match, or Sergei Bubka making another pole vault, or Mark Spitz entering the pool after winning his first race in his life - ALL of them are shameless.... ;-)
Let's See whether Cricket's Inventor England is going to Award Sachin with NightHood - " Sir " Or wait for BBC whether they find him as " International Sports Personality "for 2011 These recognitions are necessary to know whether British Or Australian Media praise for Sachin and Dhoni are true or Hollow....
In the country full of despair, corruption, and lawlessness, cricket serve as a way-out to overcome the frustration out like what a man wishes to do when he has hunger for s*x.
Like some make money out of p*rn, similarly some make money out of selling cricket to hysterically mad country of billions.
at least they (US/UK mad for football) come together to make their system run smoothly, however, we don't even think how our system is run. we behave with herd mentality wherein anyone comes and rule over us by either throwing carrot or showing cane.

Couldn't agree any lesser with You...hit the nail on the head....
Sachin is an unlucky person in big matches. Semifinal against Pakistan was a tough match than the final against Shrilanka. His 85 runs are more crucial in semifinals. Other players were finding difficult to play against Pakistan in Moholi. He batted nicely in whole tournament expect two matches against Westindies and Final. Dhoni was a so lucky that whole tournament he did not play but in final got 91 and get man of he match. In fact man of the match should be given the Goutam Gambhir

Sorry buddy.. I agree Sachin was gr8 in the tournament but if u r going to term his full of life innings aginast Pakistan as a gr8 innings and a full of spirit innings by Dhoni in finals as a mere luck, u r really irritating a normal Indian cricket fan.. Dhoni played only one good innings but he did it when mattered the most and lead from the front!!

I second you, He truely is an unlucky person in big matches & shoul never be given a chance to appear in any of those! As soon as Sachin was out in the 6th over i was sure that now India is going to win.... & not be the loosing side with a centurian.

Shrilanka has disadvantage that they had only one pacer Malinga. Other bowlers were not so impressive. In first spelll he take two wicket. In spite of two wicket gain; Shrilanka was not able to pressurize India because of lack of Pacer otherwise result was different. If malinga was supported by other pacer then Dhoni must be out by below 20
On the road to victory India has beaten the previous world champions in an amazing sequence. They beat West Indies - the 1979 champions in the last league match, Australia -the 1987 champions in the quarter finals, Pakistan- the 1991-1992 champions in the semi finals and Sri Lanka- the 1996 champions in the finals to regain the Cup. Well Done India! It is equally amazing to note the fact that the Calenders of 1983 and 2011 are exactly identical day for day.
