Sachin has failed once again
by hagumoto on Apr 03, 2011 03:53 PM  | Hide replies

This old man has always failed to deliver when India needed most.
What kind of world class batsman is he ? when after playing international cricket for 20 years and playing over 600 international matches ,goes out caught behind.

It is the media that has made Sachin a hero.
hE IS A greedy man palying for money. He will retire once his son gets entry into the team.

I have seen so many idiots like you on rediff. Why are you all against Sachin? Most of you are pessimists who want to gain publicity by writing something against a person who has performed for the country. The most common thing people say is that he is playing for his own individual scores. Don’t these scores add up to the team total? On a pitch which was deteriorating against Pakistan he was the highest scorer at 85 when the second highest score was 53 from both the teams(Don’t talk about 4 lives, even Bradman has 99.96% with lot of lives) I am not saying we won because of Sachin. Cricket is played by 11 people. It is a team sport. Even Kapil dev's 175 would not be possible without Kirmani's 24 N.O. at the other end. It is not only the players but the Coach, Trainer, Physiotherapist and other support staff who are also responsible for the victory (Sachin was humble enough to thank them). Don’t write off Sachin's contribution because you want to gain cheap publicity. Let us be true Indians and applaud him for his efforts for over 21 years to the country. When all cricketing greats hail him as the greatest what credibility (except writing on rediff because it is free and anyone who has studied 2nd class can write) do you have to write against him. Mend your ways or somebody will hit you in life for this pessimism, from which you can’t recover nor anybody from your family can save you. Jai Hind.

Sachin, Gavaskar, Kapil, Ravi Shastri are anti-social.
Without voluntarily retiring, they've denied/deprived opportunities to young Muslims/Christians/Anglo-Indians/Sikhs/BC/SC/ST cricket players.

Reality bites but reality is what matters. Sachin's four catches were dropped - he made 85 and India won. If his catches were taken, you know it better.

you seems to be a pessimist and always see negative side of everything..Dhoni's average is 48 in more than 160 ODI's..that 30 average is for just 8 games and it happens with every one...an average of 48 makes a player extra ordinary and its not easy to achieve and maintain it for 166 one day games..even yuvraj, kohli, ganguly or any of the great indian players have no such average..in addition to that he keeps wickets and that itself is enough..Wicket keepers are not expected to be such a good batsmen..which wicket keeper in the world has such a best batting record....YOU are a real JERK

You must see the reality whether it is positive or negative. Dhoni's average of 48 from 160 matches is good. But his contribution in the WC was below average. And his average of 48 comes because he batted down the order many times and remained not out - smart and cunning move - is it not?

No need to be a sycophant of anyone.

He is a cool captain because of cool contributions from other players - so no need to worry so much.

INDIA"S WIN
by Krishna Krishna on Apr 03, 2011 06:20 AM  | Hide replies

It is a great time to see India win the coveted WORLD CUP after so many years since Kapil's team won it.This time it was won in great style. The experiance of the past, built on the foundations of legndary cricket players,to see the special gates like VINOO MANKAD or POLLY UMRIGAR,while fans were waiting in orderly "Q" was just nostalgic. We have seen with pride all the great captains of previous winners walking together on the TV screens, that is what unity is all about. And cricket has just done that.Cricket can do a lot more, build bridges between the poor and the rich, give monetary support for aspirants having great potential, build a village CRICKET CLUB for every village.Did we not get our captain from an unknown place called Ranchi?Right from the time the Australian Services team toured India soon after the war,Cricket fired the imagination of its great potential to unite all the diverse people of India. We need to cash in that great spirit and thank the powerful media do just that, promote national pride and share our wealth with the very poor, make them come up in their life, show them our interest to promote them and make them live a life of happiness.Congratulations to TEAM INDIA and let us soak in and share their hour of glory.

Beautifully said.

Well,we need to promote olympic sports including Atheletics, football, etc as well so that our rural and tribal population also gets the opportunity to bring laurel for the country.

Cricket is played only by 12-15 nations and it is good to emerge champion among them. However,it is important that we emerge as a super power in the global sporting scenario for this a good medal haul at 2012 London olympics will be very crucial.

We also hope that Indian football team also progresses beyond first or second round in world cup qualifiers and gets a berth in the final events.

We hope,Indian government, fans and corporates will come forward to promote and support all sports including cricket.

Well done Indian cricket team, the legendary skipper Dhoni, the ever green Tendulkar,we are proud of you..

Om Shanti

This might come as a surprise . but 12-15 nations are allowed to play ICC regularized events.

The ICC has 65 nations registered that play cricket.

Also, it is very easy to sit on your armchair and talk about athletics and football. It is a different matter to get people to play that sport.

Now see dho-bi performance in major wins-
1)2007 T-20 wcup- No score of 30 in entire wcup & no match winning inning
(Any way India out in 2009/2010 T-20 wcup in 1st round under same captain- as a batsman also dho-ngi failed in all matches,2009 ICC ODI cup- india out in 1st round with dhoni faling in all matches as a batsman).
2)IPL 2010- chennai win but dho-bi failed in 11 matches out of 12 as a batsman
3)Wcup 2011- Except final failure in 8 consecutive maches in continuation to 5 failure in SA series.
4) In test India is no.1- courtsey sachin, sehwag, dravid, laxman, kumble & zaheer. No role of dhoni in it as his records very poor in test cricket against quality team with no match wining inning in entire career.

Thats why he is called lucky player & not a talented one. You can see his kundali & do research on it.

If so, why is that no hair was moved by any other "best performing" captains that India had had before Dhoni? Who stopped them? I think Azar, Tendulkar, Ganguly etc had a better team ...

All dhobighat supporters started barking after one good performance of useless dhoni with bat after 40 failures. It is a hard known fact that any international player if given chance after 40 failures, he will click in one match & score fifty (even if he is tom , dick & Harry). Any other player with even 10 consecutive failures not given chance in team but rule is different for politician dhoni. He is the luckiest guy & now can play for another 10 years without any performance.
As expected before wcup, most noticeable contribution came from match winners seniors like sachin (max runs), Zaheer (max wickets), Yuvi (allround performance) & sehwag (quick scoring). Dhoni & all his chamcha(youngistan) were big failure & just clicked in one in 9 matches
