had dhoni not included sreesanth but ashwin, people wud not hell bend to criticise dhoni what has pushed dhoni to take the responsibility on his shoulder and be serious in his batting to win!
another factor might have worked for dhoni! it is known that dhoni has some superstition, one superstition is that sreesanth is lucky for him! so, he had included him and he won the match, although sreesanth is a failure!

@ Gladiator I agree. All Sachin critics conveniently forget about his important knocks against Aus and Pak. If he had not scored, India would have not been in the finals.

If you still want to check the data, tendulkar made 49 centuries and India won 33 matches. Please check how many other colleagues had similar %. While quoting facts but not checking facts indicate we still believe in prejudices and not on facts.

Specific to this WC. India made it to the final on the strength of the 85 that Sachin made. Wankhede would have witnessed a Pak-Sri Lanka final on Saturday. And Lanka, would have gone home with the cup. Now, mind taking those blinkers off.

I have seen so many idiots like you on rediff. Why are you all against Sachin? Most of you are pessimists who want to gain publicity by writing something against a person who has performed for the country. The most common thing people say is that he is playing for his own individual scores. Don’t these scores add up to the team total? On a pitch which was deteriorating against Pakistan he was the highest scorer at 85 when the second highest score was 53 from both the teams(Don’t talk about 4 lives, even Bradman has 99.96% with lot of lives) I am not saying we won because of Sachin. Cricket is played by 11 people. It is a team sport. Even Kapil dev's 175 would not be possible without Kirmani's 24 N.O. at the other end. It is not only the players but the Coach, Trainer, Physiotherapist and other support staff who are also responsible for the victory (Sachin was humble enough to thank them). Don’t write off Sachin's contribution because you want to gain cheap publicity. Let us be true Indians and applaud him for his efforts for over 21 years to the country. When all cricketing greats hail him as the greatest what credibility (except writing on rediff because it is free and anyone who has studied 2nd class can write) do you have to write against him. Mend your ways or somebody will hit you in life for this pessimism, from which you can’t recover nor anybody from your family can save you. Jai Hind.

There is no need to call idiots but the campaign against Sachin is really ridiculous especially this 100 theory. How many times other players made centuries and India won? Why cant we do such analysis and than compare? Sachin's figures would be much better than many others when we check the data. Similarly people talk about performances in Finals. Why everyone should play only in finals? Dhoni played well only in finals but we were there only because of performance of many others including Sachin.

If Sachin had not scored those runs against Aus and Pak, India would not have even reached the Finals. Dumb losers are criticising.
Sachin is the greatest cricket player of his times. He can easily play for next few years. He should not retire now. Lot of cricket is still left in him.

It was a great innings. Dhoni had saved it for the last. Otherwise it was evident that after Tendulkar's dismissal Team India was on path of Collapse.
Dhoni was very lucky that Sangakkara missed to stump him at 0. :-)
