Its called the Law of Averages. If you have been consistently scoring well above average, the chances of you failing in next innings keep getting higher.
Its a scientific fact. Also Sachin kept on playing aggressively against Lanka when Malinga was in full flow with the new ball.
I think Sachin should have curtailed his aggresssion.

Sachin plays only when the situation is in his comfort zone and capitalizes favourable situations to pile his records. Especially he made good use of minnows.
Isf sachin wasnt inspirational, then the man of the series woldnt dedicate the World cup to him. Infact the man of the day Gambhir also dedicated the win to Sachin. All those who critise him shouldnt forget that he is still the 2nd highest run getter in Wrold cup. His knocks against Aus & Pak showed his grit & maturity. Also whats this Dhoni boys... the team won cuase of the master blaster and the entire team esp from Yuvraj, Zaheer, Gambhir, Raina, Viraat & entire team. One innings of Dhoni @ a time when match had started to tilt in favour of India thanks to Gambhir and lot of DEW. India has won 68% of the time when Sachin scores Century.. this doent include 90s scores which have contributed to be match winners. Till now however he never got the team which carried forward the initial work he did. Today we have finishers like Yuvi & times to come Viraat & Raina. But we still need him for some more time and he gradually phase out. Now he should play without any pressure and give us moments like his 200 which was a dream(against SA considering he hadnt played one day in 10 months.) Chak De India
Hat off to Indian team, and supporters,staff of WK Stadium.. If Sachin decides to retire (he hasn't declared yet..) he shld be ith some academy like MRF Foundation etc., to train youngsters and teach them the tricks of this worderful game.. Really proud moment for India/Indians and Sachin... May god bless him...

I have not seen indian's from all caste came together for celebration...enjoy joyous moments in life..
Collective efforts of Sachin , sehwag,Zaheer,Raina,Yuvraj brought india in finals. And captain clicked at the right time with Gambhir....
So it's a team contribution but unfortunately people only remember finals..
In 1983 india can make up to finals because of knock of Kapil Dev against zimbabwe. But people still remember Mohindar Amarnath for his best performance in finals and semi finals..
The match we saw was similar to lagaan match where everything was fixed by director from toss to last six of the match. ......hehehe...... Pappu psas ho gaya And ICC chief Became Ambassador of Corruption.
