career already great
by sekhar raja on Apr 03, 2011 01:16 AM  | Hide replies

I think Dhoni's innings was sort of Waugh's 120 in the 1999 semifinals, just what the team needed on both occasions. With T20 Cup,Test No.1 Ranking,1 WC in his kitty Dhoni can be called as the best captain India ever had, come what may happen later.

Well played..
by taklu on Apr 03, 2011 01:12 AM

Dhoni and Gambhir, especially Gambhir for the extreme pressure situation he was in after Sachin and Sehwag fell. For me, Gambhir was a more apt man of the match for having nerves of steel and steering us to safety, after which Dhoni could continue and later Yuvi joined the party too.

India's future plans for Test and ODI: a system based on merit
by Nikhil Shah on Apr 03, 2011 01:10 AM  | Hide replies

Most of us will celebrate the Cup being back with us, but in order to continue our resurgence and dominance in this game. The selection has to be based on merit.

1. Umesh Yadav, the replacement fast bowler in Test matches only. Bowls with adequate pace and should not be burned out playing ODIs. Playing ODI for Yadav in the sub-continent will discourage him and keep him fresh for Tests only.

2. Ajinkye Rahane, with a First class average of 69! should replace the famed Indian Test middle order

3. Manoj Tiwari, Rohit Sharma and Pujara who all average 50 in First class cricket and are alo Brilliant fielders.

The ODI bowling attack for WC 2015 in Australia should go with Munaf, Ishant and Sreesanth because of the pitches and all ODI batsmen except Sachin should return for 2015 WC with Yusuf replacing Sachin.

The last time we won in Australia was because of Ishant and Sreesanth in ODIs. Should NOT bowl in the Sub-continent in ODIs.

Congrats Team India!

Don't believe in all that rubbish media throws at you. Sri Lanka were the join hosts of World Cup 1996 and they won that. So they won the world cup as hosts already, while we can debate how they won the world cup then.
