Webcam should be put in umpire's hat
by Bene Izraeli on Sep 07, 2010 02:47 PM  | Hide replies

which can give near perfect decision on LBW. a small gadget with 5 or 6 inches screen should be kept in umpire's pocket on which he can see the replay, if need be, from the webcam in his hat and THEN give decision. even if the verdict of the field umpire is wrong and so proved in the replay, then the third and fourth umpires must SUO MOTO, rectify the mistake over walkie talkie there and then to make sure that no batsman is given out wrongly. and vice versa! also, there must be some penalty in form of either extra runs or extra balls or free hits if a team makes a completely false appeal in chorus because that disturbs the temperament of the batsmen (at both ends) and makes them nervous to no end. bowlers then take advantage of this in the ensuing deliveries or the remaining part of the over. this must stop.

It is good

UDRS is good. It will take out some inefficiencies- intentional or unintentional from umpiring.

Hot Spot is a Technology used by Sky Sports and It will show just like a Negative image so that the edge or any contact with the bat will be clearly indicated in White while other part in black. So we can easily find the Edge even very thin using Slow Motion but this is costly one

Number of referrals
by wcpak on Sep 07, 2010 01:55 PM

I think this report does not talk about the limitation on the number of referrals that can be made. I feel it should be 2 each for the bating and bowling teams in the league phase and may be 3 each in the SF & final.

India

Being an Indian i aslo want that India will win this World Cup. But I did not think that India will win wether it is referral system or not. Indian Bowling is very weak. India will be out before semi-final. No team can win big tournament on the performance of one or two player like Sachin or Sehwag. So Indian chances are 20%
