Guys Cricinfo is a pro Australian website
by prajyoth pradeep on Oct 26, 2010 04:54 PM  | Hide replies

Cricinfo is England based and its also pro Australian. These guys must have been embarrassed thats why they put four Australian Players. Others wise half the team of the world XI have been from the sub continent. Tendulkar = Highest runs, Murali = Highest Wickets, Akram = second highest wicket taker in Odis and among the highest in Tests. Picking Jack Hobbs who played only against 2-3 countries...over Virender Sehwag and Sunil Gavaskar is.. ahem ... *cough* *cough* funny. Gawking at folklore stories and averages cannot make it into a World XI. Len Hutton...no way. Muralitharan where are you in the world XI..even Indian batsmen don't play you well. Shane warne gets a place! In know Adam Gilchrist is the wicket keeper here but you need a fantastic captain and it can only be Dhoni. Don't forget Dhoni can be more destructive than Gilchrist and Gilchrist doesn't play spin well. Dhoni can also play the slow game and plus is a fantastic captain...who wouldn't pick this guy.
Go to their own website and see the negative responses they've got.

This shows why he has achieved so much in life
by pradeep agarwal on Oct 26, 2010 04:41 PM

The way he has comprehended the difficult playing conditions for cricketers of bygone era shows his total understanding of game.He only could have excused himself from comparison with greats of past after achieving so much himself.

Lara vs Sachin
by Raghavendra Ratnal on Oct 26, 2010 04:30 PM  | Hide replies

What I could see the differance between Lara and Sachin is their temperment, they were great in their own way. One enjoys success and other did not. Sachin had support of Dravid, Gangualy, Lax, Viru etc.. But Lara had very little support. But he had fought many battels alone. In my opnion Lara was a great cricketer (This is just my opnion). Lara was always complimented Sachin for his batting. Hats off to these two legends of cricket.

what is your point? There have been many greats like Lara and they also could not find place in world XI. Sachin is much better than Lara and hence he has been selected. Accept it and move on. Otherwise your frustration will eat you up.

Look at his face. This is the face of a sincere, honest, humble person. Compare this face with Yuvraj's face ad you will know the difference.
