"If any technology has to be used, it has to be the responsibility of an umpire," says Zaheer, adding, "They should be in the position to use it if need be." it should not be for the teams bowling / batting.

UDRS is OK in principle but not in practice.Limiting each team only to two successful referals in each innings is absurd as it supposes that umpires are entitled to make two mistakes in each innings per team. If any one is sincere in using technology, they should take out the decision to refer to technology from the on filed captains and this should rest with the match referee and third umpire. On several occasions ,deliveries pitched outside the leg stump and going over the stumps had been blatantly given out and seen on the replays. Now umpires can recall batsman who had been declared out by the same umpire on the suspicion of 'no-balls". If this could be done, why not the "pitched outside leg stump /over the stump and ‘bat and pad catches' be left to the third umpire an match referees?
As far as the technology is concerned, the usage of it is limited to the broadcasting crew and their manipulations. In the recently concluded Ashes test, snicko meter clearly showed a tickle from an Aussy batsman but was not shown to the third umpire in time and was declared "not out" After the decision was given in favour of the batsman, the crew showed the tickometer much later. Why? Why not the tickometer considered as evidence? So let us not just jump to conclusions. Dhoni and Sachin have some reservations and they are entitled to it and they must have taken it on experience. Sachin says gently that it should be co
Indians are denying the UDRS system because they pump money to umpires to give decision in thier favour. As long as India rules the world cricket, UDRS will not be implemented.

Hahaha...Good try from our neighbors to print something on the name of Indians... If what you said is correct, the World Cup should have been ours always :P
I still don't know what is wrong with technology. Article could have pointed out some instances where the technology was incorrect or some explanation of technical issues that cause the system to be wrong.
All we can get from the article is that some players are not happy with UDRS without understanding why.

someone seeing the technology on TV cannt say whether its right / wrong decision. only players with more experience can say about it
ponting's right here...correct decision will be made more often than not...compared to without udrs...esp for caught behind / batpad etc....moreover it makes the game interesting with limit of 3 referals....indians are just crybabies..coz they survive mostly becoz of umpires wrong decisions...esp. sachin...becoz he knows in india...very few umpires have the guts to give him LBW..in front of a partisan crowd...aldo indian spinners get most of their wickets through LBWs given under pressure by the umpires in india....

You are absolutely right Mr. Prakash, because if you will look at the INDIA-SRILANKA TEST SERIES then you will surely found that why indian's are against UDRS and your comment over sachin and other legendary batsmen of Flat wickets are absolutely justified in my views

what zaheer says is correct..."If any technology has to be used, it has to be the responsibility of an umpire," says Zaheer, adding, "They should be in the position to use it if need be."

If India opposes what is pro fair play it should not cry foul for wrong decisions and should never blame the umpires even when decisions are blatant
Australia have appointed Venkatesh Prasad as the bowling coach. Venkatesh Prasad was sacked by BCCI as bowling coach in 2009. After that the Indian bowling has only weakened. And new talent is coming very slowly.
Now Venkatesh Prasad's talent is being recognised elsewhere. He will be mainly responsible to teach Australian bowlers to reverse swing which they find difficult.
