Australia have appointed Venkatesh Prasad as the bowling coach. Venkatesh Prasad was sacked by BCCI as bowling coach in 2009. After that the Indian bowling has only weakened. And new talent is coming very slowly.
Now Venkatesh Prasad's talent is being recognised elsewhere. He will be mainly responsible to teach Australian bowlers to reverse swing which they find difficult.
The issue is not whether the referral system is 100% correct; it's about whether it can be more correct than the umpires decisions. I think just because our boys did not use it properly, they are scared as more decision went against them than for. What is teh harm if the referral system is used as it will at least some wrong decesions. We can opt for more / better technology as and when it becomes available but for the present let us ust it
Every decision must be absolutely correct. Therefore, let the umpires give immediate decision in all clear cases, so that the tempo of the game is not lost. But, whenever the given decision is found to be wrong, that decisionb must be corrected retrospectively. Thus, a wrong LBW can come back to play, and a wrong No Ball can be rectified retrospectively.
I think instead of players asking for UDRS, umpires should opt for Referral System Before (giving) Decision (RSBD), which should be acceptable. This will help Umpires to take almost right decisions and will reduce comments/remarks they get for wrong decisions.
