the allegations are serious
by asm on Oct 11, 2010 05:56 PM

the allegations on the two teams are serious. every agency in the country has found serious issues in the whole structure of ipl. yes there is politics and there always will be. an emminent person like arun jaitley too is an office bearer. the teams surely will miss modi as under him they didnt have to bother about any law in the country as they didnt care. His biggest supporter V Mallya , the world knows about him now. mantaining his billionaire status with help of CDR. and people like him are against farm loan waivers! THATS BAD ECONOMICS. only he knows economics. the country knows it is not a setup when you read all the facts that have already been put out in public domain. those are enough to drop the teams . and kochi didnt even get off the ground so ED, FEMA etc doesnt even apply to them. tax, well paying tax on illegally acquired wealth , is that the kind of tax you want. and 1000cr. thats peanuts. hard earned money of raj kundra and preity zinta, well they arent the only people working hard in this country . dont understand how they become so entreprenurial and savvy and start winning cricket team bids . VM should thank his stars that the whole process of ipl bidding hasnt been questioned because BCCi itself would have been in trouble. He should be more concerned about his debt as even after CDR he will continue loosing money. super arrogant man. ruined himself with lighting speed. cricket has hit its lowest . fixing, drugs, money laundering, thats cricket in 2010.

well to promote other sports doesnt mean to scrap another sport. IPL is what people love to watch and thats why the fourth season is also coming.

Morever there was a IPL like thing for hockey PHL (Premier Hockey League) having 7 teams for different region... how popular was that...? did u even knew abt it...

indeed anna. cricket is not a game. it is a business. in the western countries it is a pastime. the whole origin was to help englishmen kill time in colonial countries. football, hockey etc are real games. if you put the indian hockey and cricket team against each other in an akhara, the hockey team can rip the cricketers apart. the level of fitness required in those real games is completely different.

Shocking
by SR Hari on Oct 11, 2010 09:49 AM  | Hide replies

The decisions of the BCCI are shocking to put it in mild terms. Early Sunday morning, we all read in the newspapers that The RR and KXI Punjab may just scrape through while the Kochi franchise would throw in the towel and would walk out.

By the evening it is all the reverse that happened. Absolutely no doubt that the Congress is playing the game of witch hunting (not just at the BCCI but also in the Karnataka Assembly simultaneously).

Can BCCI openly acknowledge to the general public that there are no issues with the rest of the frnachises? WHy target these two teams only? Because they are close to the one time hero and presently villain Modi?

Mr. Tharoor seems to be wielding the game despite making statements on the contrary.

So whats the problem buddy.....

Every business model is all about making money. So far as they are making money and paying taxes properly then its good for the country. 1000Cr of Tax collection due to IPL - does it help the nation or not.
