It is not upto Pointing to allow a runner if the injury happened during the course of the game being played. he can object but will most certainly be not considered since the injury happened at Mohali. However, for the Bangalore test there is not question of Laxman batting with a runner for an injury that happened in Mohali. Ponting doesn't have to object b'cos Laxman would know the rules and will not come into bat with a runner.
