Dravid the culprit
by Azzrooddin on Nov 22, 2010 05:52 PM  | Hide replies

What is use of tons and tons of runs if you cannot get out in time? Hopeless case. Another easy win, but what about the spectators? What about the cricket? Dravid you should retire gracefully now, its too much.

Sachin has done OK today, half-century is enough.

small correction mahesh a corrupt cricketer,

and Mr uddin, dont you know the basics of cricket, you need 2 ends to hold and Dravid does hold 1 end so that others can play not worring about loosing quick wickets as the WALL is always standing.

inning defeat for the KIWIS on cards
by rohit rajadhayx on Nov 22, 2010 04:27 PM  | Hide replies

India with such a manmoth lead, inning defeat is definately on cards, as there are two long days for the kiwis to bat & with the pitch deteiorating and helping the spinners,India at ths position cannot even think of batting again or think of a DRAW

yes mammoth is a right world of lead almost 375.. then which lead will u call mamoth? 500 runs lead? 600? idiot.. a lead of 20-50 is called slinder lead.. above 50 to 75/80 handy lead.. lead of around 100-150 is considered good lead.. 151-200 lead called very good lead.. 201 to 300 is called a huge lead.. anything more than 300 lead is a mamoth lead & here lead is 375 that is close to 400 which is very mamoth lead..

Raees,

Bitta cricketing mind required..India wanted to use new/semi new ball early morning 2mrw..also wanted to cause whatever damage possible in one shot during pre-close..its a old theory of test to try on tired opposition for 20 to 30 mins before close of da day..

captains like ricky pointing could have declared when dravid out
by pravin sarode on Nov 22, 2010 04:17 PM

there is absolute not necessary to waste time like this to give batting practice to tail enders because the whether will play crucial role at nagpur so maximum 200 overs to end the match dhoni got in hand so also vitori. actually dhoni waster 6 overs after dravid departure what is need to play when lead is more than 350 runs

Declaration too late
by Sebastian Cherukanam on Nov 22, 2010 04:17 PM  | Hide replies

If it were Australia, they would have declared the moment the score crossed 500 mark, then would have taken at least a couple wickets today itself and would have won this test match on 4th day itself. That way they would have ensured cent percent positive result to this match.

Now due to this late declaration, New Zealand has a chance, though remote, to draw this match.

There is a brute necessity that
by Typhoid Mary on Nov 22, 2010 04:14 PM  | Hide replies

India is weaned off this cricket mania, the sooner, the better. When the country is performing exceedingly well at Asian games with sportspersons from other arena stealing the show, Rediff is still soaked in giving hackneyed cricket( with handful of nations ranged against one another) undue attention. Till we shift our focus to other sports, these hapless super-duper performers will be treated like orphans forasmuch as no corpate house will warm up to the idea of bankrolling other sports which do not enjoy mass support.
