Please writers at least Spell our country name correctly. Its Really SHAME ON us. (Refer: Virender Sehwag [ Images ] had given India a flying start as he slammed 74 from 73 deliveries, while Gautam Gambhir [ Images ] played a fine innings of 78 from 127 balls, as the two openers provided Indai)

Sachin Laxman Dravid still there..
In adition we have 15 fit sprinters..to function as runners and fielders on their behalf , as per an article modified by BCCI.
Its a crime to waste such talent to old age and nonsense 'make way for new' concepts

All the three players should be allowed to play in Test till they touch prime age of 50(That by itseld would be a record for the limca/guiness books). One or two century in a year is/are enough.Sadly many youngsters waiting on the bench may retire waiting due fitness problems before the sr's retire.

mehtaji pranam..

I hope you understand test cricket and following the game since long...!!
Please don't expect miracle from yongsters.. especially in test cricket...
Now India is at No.1 in test cricket. do you have any objection to say it is due to the senior's are still there.
You should look at the Australian team when they were at no.1 and now where they are. Their coutdown started when Wagh brothers, Mcgrah, Warne, Gilly, Hayden etc. retired. You want the same thing to happen for India too??
So as far as they are performing, let us enjoy the game.. or we will regret later and stop watching test cricket.

Why didnt we ask sachin or laxman when they started to play an inning like they do now ?. The same damn reason applies to youngsters as well. They lack the exposure. And in time they will do fine. I mean the ones who have it in them for tests.

Sachin scored a century on debut in Ranji, Duleep and Irani matches and stood up to Imran, Akram and the like when he was given a break at the age of 16. Dravid scored 95 in debut in England and when he faced Donald and Co in SA, he played like a 'wall' and never played a bad shot like the youngsters of today. Laxman scored the big century in Aus in 1999 and was always as wristy as he is today. Sehwag scored a century on debut batting with Tendulkar in SA. Now, Gambhir played brilliantly in NZ showing he can be the second wall. Among younsters, only Pujara has the attitude to play Test scricket and should replace Raina, as Raina can wait for Tests and play better in ODIs and T20s.

Raina scored a century on debut as well. These guys have started playing in T20 times. But that does not mean they dont have it in them to make it big in tests. Let them figure it out. And it is just one series and you start cribbing.

Pl check on his career. He took his time to get going. So did Laxman. The initial away series of each of these players was disaster. Dravids first in Aus was a super disaster. But boy did he turn around and made the nation proud. So dont be so quick to judge and compare them with a senior superstar.

I have nothing against Raina, he is a talented player. But Pujara should be prefered to the middle order slot now. Dravid scored two 90s in his debut in England and his next tour was SA in 1996. Don't just look at the stats books, but see the recording of those matches which may be available and then comment how he played when compared with his experienced teammates.

What period? Test cricket still remains the same, there is an element called time. Lack of technique contributing to a team getting dismissed in a day consistently is not great Test cricket. Hope you understand this. No win is assured by maintaining great strike rate. How much was Raina's strike rate today? Will that kind of batting win Tests?

Isn't it possible, yeah the record of this great man is more important than the mere win for god forsaken country called india. Why the rules can not be tweaked for such a great cause, they shuold force follow on on india, so that the the GOD, the SRT, the MstBst can score the ultimate, what is the importance of a win if the great guy of the century can not have his 50th, the 50th century. Let us run a national campaign for this cause and help SRt to create his 50th century.

see here mr. gupta... i understand ur delimma.. u r probably a victim of media sarcasm.. if u r a true follower of cricket, u would know and understand the importance of sachin not just as a batsmen but as a true sportsman.. the man is a genious, his humility is beyond comparison and that after having achieved this greatness.. u may be true in saying that all of the sachins centuries may not have won matches for india.. also, may be there may have been times when sachin bought india close to famous almost impossible wins, but was not able to take india through. but dear friend that is just destiny that intervened and denied glory to the master batsmen and to india and not because as u may asume because of lack of intent.. the indian cricketers of his generation are true sportsmen be it sachin , dravid, laxman kumble even gangly... they had lot of character with grit and determination.. compare that with a la yuvraj, sreesanth or bhaji as to how they aspire for stardom and probably perform only to achieve greater stardom.. may be if not for the game of these true sportsmen you should appreciate their sportsmanship and the wonderful joy these stalwarts have brought to millions of indians...

Yeah a great carved out of his mediocrity by naming him the best by hyped/paid media. This happens when you hardly have any exceptional talent to showcase and have natural stars to have the kind of following a sporting star can have. Just keep blowing your own trumpet and of self bestowed greatness, to me SACHIN can at the best be compared with rajnikant, both great stars but with hardly any substance to mention of.

I know there is no meaning to argue with a man like you. if you are following cricket, then there is soming to discuss with you about those subjects. However, let me understand you one thing.. Batsmen's job is scoring runs in cricket and if you score 100 runs, then it is called a century. The more the batsmen scores the more the team has a chance to win the match subject to the situations. Sachin is scoring tons of runs, it is not his mistake..!!

Ruler is so happy isn't it? yeah you respect him, I any way never abused his capability to accumulate runs, he is the best run accumulator of whole world, this is just never converted into winning results for india. Some have argued that he has caused 20 wins for india which is a records, he has played almost double the matches of almost all the indian players and winning 20 so the win per winning cause is very very dismal, i.e. 180/20 = 9 , it means he causes defeat/draw on 8 out of 9 and win only on 1.

Drop Suesh Raina test matches and give chance to Muarli Vijay or Chateshwar Pujara. Raina has flopped in 4 innings continuously. Why when a youngster like Raina, Rohit Sharma flops they get 10 chances, why a senior player flops pressure to drop them. IT is about being number 1 and not just sacrificing number 1 postion to groom young players ! Non-performers whether its young or old must be dropped ! Rain needs a break !

But Why not Pujara....Pujara should be in the playing 11 instead of Raina... with both Pujara and Dravid we can switch the no 3 and no6 positions according to the situation...in this way we have more flexible batting options in test too like we have in ODI.....
