Stats
by Suresh on Nov 13, 2010 06:44 PM  | Hide replies

Is the stat on 50,000 cumulative runs accurate ? Doesn't sound like it. Given Gavaskars' 10K, Lakshman, Ganguly, Sehwag, Viswanath, Vengsarkar etc. the figure adds up to well over 50K runs.

this 50000 is the cumulative score of current Indian team and that is why no other team has done it till now. If we add all the batsmen then every test playing country except bangladesh will be having more than 50000 runs.

Yes, but possible 172 (behind) 150 (Lead if gets) means they need to score 322 with Sachin is on strike and Laxman,Raina,Dhoni follows

150 lead, tough ask but let see, I think 100 lead is more realistic, we have seen how tough to score in this pitch

No, he will play next test and score another 50 then he will spoil next whole series in SA. Because he can't play moving ball against top class attack.

rajesh gupta, gambhir is not sachin who cannot play against moving ball against top class attack.

gambhir was responsible for winning T20 WC which was held in SA.

Gautam Gambhir is an enormously talented chap who cannot stay away from scoring for long. You are right in saying that Gambhir was actually responsible for our WC T20 in 2007.

Having said that it would be prudently amateurish to compare him with possibly the best batsman cricketing history till date has ever produced. Sachin's ability to play the moving ball has been aptly on display on all his tours to all the nations across the world where he single handedly handled the baton and took the battle to the opposition. He never has this phobia for the moving ball. In fact one of his prime weaknesses as I see it is playing the ball outside the offstump on to the stumps. No offence meant. Thank you.

if bowlers are told to be aggressive and pick 20 wickets, then y not teh same yardstick applies to batsmen as well? except for viru and sachin, every others bat in dull and defensive way..if dravid can be defensive, then bhajji also should be defensive...

thats the reason, the aus teams with hayden, warne and mcgrath all are attacking in nature..if u r a batsman, the mantra is go after the bowling and if u r a bowler, go after the batsman..thats how they dominated the world cricket..ofcourse, they had talented men to do the job..even india has, but, if even after 15 years of experience, dravid cant rotate strike on flat wickets means, we indians adore and are emotional about our heroes..

viru everytime gives time for bowlers to take out opposition 20 wkts. by playing fast and sachin tries his best to mess it up.

Sunil i have been going through your posts. You have good knowledge of cricket but you are wasting it completely with some ridiculous personal vendetta against Sachin Tendulkar which even you in your own heart know is wrong. Stop doing so and start writing responsibly buddy. Thank you.

thank you abhishek for going through my posts and understanding and acknowledging that i have good knowledge of cricket. yes i write some things about sachin which i know are not true and i dont really mean it. but my personal vendetta is not against sachin. i had revealed my true intentions on this forum a few times. guess you missed it as you seem to be new here. and it seems one cannot see each and every post of everyone here like before and nowadays you can only read anybody's last 100 or so messages.

to put your mind to rest abhishek i tried writing responsibly but only responsible posters respond in a responsible, honest and sporting way. but quite a few times i have come across people having hatred in their heart, who resort to abuses when they cant argue with truth and who cant take criticism however correct against their favourite player.

abhishek whenever you find me writing anything ridiculous, abusive or unfair and which could provoke, harass or annoy, understand that it is not meant for people like you, varun and other people having real knowledge of cricket and who write without prejudice and hate but for people who cant accept truth, contradict themselves all the time and change their opinions at the drop of a hat and are intolerant and call people whose posts they dont like as porki, moron, etc.

abhishek, i dont hate sachin, and i have nothing against him. but i do hate those blind sachin fanatics for whom sachin is everything and they refuse to see beyond him. i hate the monster that they have turned sachin into and anyone speaking anything against him or even praising other players ahead of him is termed as porki, moron, anti india and what not.

for them sachin is GOD who can do and say no wrong. for them sachin single-handedly wins matches for india without any contribution from other 10 players. they simply refuse to see that it is a team game and sachin alone does not win matches for india. they steal the performances of other players and give to sachin. they shout out every performance of sachin and blank out his every failure. on the other hand they shoud on the roof tops about other players failures and refuse to accept, acknowledge, mention performaces of other players. for all such performances of other players and also for all the failures of sachin they have long term memory loss. it is against them that my real vendetta or mission is.

abhishek, i started mainly when i found that people like LG, Ashishkumar, Against Pseudos, arvin g, mumbai chhokra, sameer, senthil, E darwin, etc. who keep harping that sachin is the greatest and solely responsible for india being no. 1 ranking cricket team. they just refuse to acknowledge other great indian players and their performances and especially dhoni whom they abuse and twist his name in any way they think. they do this because dhoni is being given credit for india's recent successes and these people cant digest the fact that he has stolen their god sachin's thunder.

abhishek, all my unreasonable and unfair sounding posts are meant for above mentioned and their type of people. so dont take everything i write personally.

i just play their game using their own logic, their own rules, and their own language. so understand that all such posts are meant to tease and bait them. i trust in future you will understsand which posts i mean from my heart and which posts i write just intending to provoke such people.

senthil, agreed that you are ashamed of your worthless life on earth, you have made no one proud, your parents, your grandparents, your friends, your teachers, other indian citizens, members of this forum etc. ok so all of them are ashamed of how you have turned out. ok i understand all that but this is not the correct way to take out your frustrations. ok so you are a failure in life. so what? people can still love you only if you behave well and good and courteous to others. they will love and try to help you even if you have failed in life.

ok so my superior cricket knowledge gives you complex and you feel inadequate in front of me but dude you can still learn and improve. ok, so many people on this forum tease you and your cricket knowledge. but believe me you will get over this. after all one must always accept truth. so what if you dont understand cricket. there are many other sports. you can try your luck at some other sport.

but let me tell you the way you bark on this forum reminds me of bruno moneteiro and raj arora.

senthil, what does having group of 3 or 30 or even 300 prove? you can have friend group of even 3000 people but how can that make you an expert in cricket. making more and more friends will make no difference to the size or quality of the vacant place in your head. an idiot will remain an idiot no matter how many friends he has. and an expert is expert whether he makes any friends group or not.

and secondly senthil, i dont take challenges from people born to more than one fathers and also more than one mothers. people like you, LG, senthil, ashiskumar, against pseudos, arvin g, sunil k are crap and will always remain so. you people are beyond hope.

Selfish Dravid earns 1 crore rupees for new contract. He is 38 years and out of form. Just hanging there to get money. Selectors should have asked Dravid to retire as Vengsarkar did for Ganguly.

If Dravid is not required, there is a panel which decides on his future. Even the contract came to him because the decision makers felt he deserved. It is not you and me to decide on his employment.
