Who started it?

They going to a a Pub is such a sin ? After all it was after the match not before as some other teams do.
If there was smoke, some one did lit the fire.It is obvious that it was not the Indian Team. Fans have every right to get frustrated, but it would have a better gesture if they said "better luck next time" . the other teams played well ,they exploited the conditions and Indian teams' weakness in handling short deliveries. Like Sachin once said, fans should not get over emotional in these situations, you cant win all matches. No one plays to lose.

Indians as a people are always emotional about cricket coz it is not just a sport...secondly a thing called 'satta' makes all players go weak in the knees and even the greatest have been known to fall for the 'money-bait',and that my friend is the whole truth, rest all is dialouge-baazi

I feel fans have every right to behave in this way because these crickers are enjoying five star facilities and great income from advertisment because of Indian Fans...Who travel around the world to see India Win....
I am not saying that India can win every time they play but as Those people are representing 120 Crore people they should have played their best cricket...As every kid in India knows that Indian Bats man canot play short pitched balls they would have prepared for It.Because last time also we have been out of tournment because of this weakness.

This is pure rackless behaviour from our players....they earn lot of money in IPL and Through advertisment. So they have lost interest in Cricket...

As a Indian it feels bad when India lose because of low commitment to win matches.

I wish in Future Indian players play with good sprit to Win.

What do you mean by "better luck next time". For the luck to favor, you must have the right attitude. Indian players head is always focused on after-match booze and party.

And Indian team has people from dubious backgrounds such as Yuvraj. His father, another arrogant cricketer Yograj was an accomplice for Manu, the murderer..

India sent a team of 14 players. You said two players from TN did not play well. What about other players? First they blamed Dhoni, then others. India lost, came back and going to Zimbabwe. Forget about all these and relax.

Yes it does, but either the players or BBCI should be answerable if they tag the indian logo . You can't throw ball at each other at the Publics expense.

Mr. Bhagwat, its a game, so get over it. Nobody forces the public to buy tickets, nobody forces the people to forget their work/studies and stick to their TV or radio the whole day for the match. Nobody forces the public to buy any particular product because a cricketer is endorsing it. So they are not playing because we are being forced to pay taxes or anything like that. The fans who felt they lost their money in buying tickets did so of their own accord. Hence they have no right to heckle the players, trying to get their own frustration out of their systems. The players have become stars not because BCCI pays them so well, but because the public moons over them. Don't like-don't watch, but you have no right to abuse them.

Excuse me? People who actually 'pamper' the players are those that get worked up about a game. Stop getting so passionate about a win or a loss, stop treating cricketers like demigods or devils, stop treating cricket like a religion, and your so-called 'chicken' will automatically come back to earth. Imagine someone who can't grasp this simple truth calling someone out on smartness!

I like cricket , so no reason for me not to watch. That does not mean that I should have trash dished out to me by guys who are paid indirectly by my money.

If the effort is there that's good enough. How will I know if they are going to put the effort or not if I don't watch?

Asif,

Where did you get such a profound thinking? Nobody died, but national pride was hurt. It hurts when your SriLankan/English fiends taunt you that your National team makes a mockery of themselves. They are unfit, efforts is clearly visible, you don't need to draw a line.If you have watched enough cricket , you know when there is effort and when there is not.

And t your question on payments, how do you think BCCI pays the cricketers? From our ticket money, and or advertisers - who advertise to us and we buy their products. Isn't it?

India lost to Australia under Kuble , did anyone critisize? The effort was there, thats all we ask from these spolit Brats! Is that asking too much?

Why should we not ask the goverment to invest our Money in other sports? This tirade is against everyone including BCCI and tha players bear the brunt because they are the face.

Sameer, at what point will you say "Yes, the effort was there"?.It will never happen, because a loss will always be a loss and you will forever critize the losing team and find scapegoats. It is one thing to be emotionally vested in a team and another to consider it humiliation on a national level as if India's prestige in the comity of nations was destroyed based on a cricket tournament. I dont see the similar shame for any other sport for u? It is very easy to criticize anyone and another to be in their shoes.Your point of them being paid indirectly by you is pure bull..any sport and by direct correlation any sportsman/men/team will have its good, bad and nasty days..it is the nature of sport. To equate it to accountability, responsibility to the public and behaving irrationally to a loss is just childish. Grow up,it is a sport, they lost, big deal! did it affect your appetite?did it cause a war?did it cause riots?did it cause you to take sanyas?did anyone die?no right? swallow it and move on..nothing gives you or anyone the right to abuse anyone, for whatever reason..because when you do it shows your temperament, maturity, upbringing and refusal to deal with a situation in an adult and responsible manner.

Right to defend!
by Ramesh Kapoor on May 26, 2010 08:01 PM

If I was a victim of a rowdy crowd, I have a right to defend myself, barring becoming physical. The security was the job of the Pub owners, and not the cricketers. It is a shame that BCCI is picking on those named. Do we not see how the secretary to BCCI N. Srinivasan has reacted to Lalit Modi's allegations and even the BCCI President. If BCCI has any judicious visions then let there be a new board being elected, as all the present executive has become a tamasha.

has no meaning when one keeps repeating he has done no wrong.

It is sign of a weak person trying to be smarter that he is.

Fans have every right to be harsh on these players because they came all the way from USA to see them give at least some fight, but they chickened out.

Funny part is: We requested them not to abuse...

Look, if a team loses doesnt mean that players need to be beaten blue. If the guys from USA went all the way carribien is to enjoy and also watch cricket. No one assures positive result and one should take it as game. These guys USA would have been heavily drug, like many Indians do when they go out for dinner in USA.

Dear V SR,
I am an Indian. I live in US. I dine out frequently. But I have never been heavily 'drug' or drunk, nor has anyone else in our circle. So you can stop with the generalizing already. On the other hand, I have seen many people in India getting so drunk at parties with free booze that they are throwing up all over the place. Not a pretty sight. However, I do agree with your basic premise about cricketer-fan relations.

Dear LG,
fans have no right to be harsh on players, because players don't force fans to buy tickets or watch them play. For something that you do of your own accord, of your own free choice, you cannot blame others if they don't perform according to your wishes. When you go to a restaurant and don't like the food, do you abuse everyone from the waiters to the manager to the chef, or just walk out and decide not to go there again?

Roopal Vaish,
Well, I am sure you know the world consumers or customers.Cricket fans are consumers that can not be taken lightly.

V SR,
Had you worked for professional organization, you wont have used the sentences---No one assures positive result...

Well, in way nothing is certain,; but people makes efforts, they give fight do not chicken out.

I can understand the anger of those fans--they want performances from these so called professional sportsman.

The point is players like Dhobi, Jadega are hyped by people of their states, and there was a need to make them stop dreaming.

Jadeja d most selfish player in recent years!
by Biswajyoti Borkakoty on May 26, 2010 07:23 PM  | Hide replies

I remember watching Jadeja in one T20 match when he was a just newcomer and he played so selfishly to score some 30 odd runs in test match manner, that India lost the match ultimately but be booked his place in the squad becoz selectors think he is a good all-rounder.

He is also very shrewed and he generally takes singles in the last balls to keep maximum strike to himself... In one match against Australia (Hyderabad 2009, India needed 350 to win)as far as I remember, Tendulkar was going great guns and scored over 170 runs (and managed to bring the required rate to 18 runs in 19 balls or so) when Jadeja came on strike Tendular was devoid of the strike for many overs and ultimately Tendulkar threw his wicket at his score of 175...and India ultimately lost that match.

I think Robin Uthappa and Yusuf Pathan are selfless players & are also far better players most suited for T20 matches if they are handled properly.

They do that only to enjoy conversations over lunch with fellow Americans and not to be left out. And they do criticize cricket saying it is all fools game. O-M-G! What a misanthrope you are, V SR. Have you ever been wronged personally by some American NRI? Even if thats true, that is no reason to abuse the entire community. There are all types of people everywhere; even in India there are people who think India, or anything Indian, is bad and everything American is good. Here in US, there are people who think like that, yes, but its not everybody. I have seen grown-ups playing cricket, young kids playing cricket, people having parties on match days so all friends can watch the match together, people foregoing their night sleep to catch a match in India...

All in all, its best not to talk about what you don't really know.
