As usual Ponting, can not digest that his team has lost. Now, for a change, instead of blaming somebody or something for the loss, he has come up with this excuse. Shows what a bad loser he is.

If it were 3 finals in the 2003 and 2007 world cups australia would have easily won it 2-0 with the 3r one not taking place. Ponting is a prooven winner. Even i dont like his behaviour but as a cricketer i admire him the way he handles himself and his team. You cannot compare him with any of the Indian captains except Kapil Dev. So dont whine for Ponting.

I actually doubt the 2003 ... i dont have doubts about the 2007 version ... but yes Aussies did catch us on a bad day back in 2003.
Aussies have always been bad losers,it was showcased in the Sydney test match against India quite openly and the same thing reflects in ponting's comments.Australian cricket may have been at the pinnacle of cricket for years now but their cricketers will never be termed as great because they suck when it comes to being respectable representatives of the gentleman's game and their arrogance obviously makes them bad role models.

did he ever say so when he won the last 3 world cups? for aussies, its always fair game till they are winning. Once they start losing, they turn very bitter. they can only dish it out but once they get paid in the same coin suddenly it is sledging and below the belt. prime examples being Ricky Ponting, Andrew Symonds (Monkeygate) and Glenn Mcgrath (Sarwan episode). Symonds could abuse anyone with their ancestors but couldnt take anything back. Mcgrath could abuse anyone as much as he liekd but his wife was out of bounds for payback time. Hypocrites one and all..
As I said that Ausi and England are #1 and #2 team in this T20WC. Well, both were in final, and England with better performance on that day won the final. I could have gone either way as both deserved to be the winners.
I also like the Captain of Ausi-CLARKE, who was bold enough to accept that he is not good for T20, and selector should look at his performance and decide the future captain.
This kind of character is called bold, confident, and sensible (cool). Dhobhi is just opposite but hyped as cool (sensible), confident, and bold.
These are the reason why Ausi are the best team in all format ( do not go by faulty ranking) of the game. There is no shame ins accepting the truth.
There should always be best of three final in any formats, if time permits.

yes, aus are best team in all formats. that is probably why they did not win any of 3 T20 WC. Inspite of not winning any of the 3 world T20 if it is not declared no. 1 in T20, it is grave injustice.
yeah right - Why just T20??? When they won the Champion trophy, world cups etc why wasnt the same applicable.. When they beat India in the 2003 world cup, India had lost jus one match in the entire tournament.. why not for world cups????
And in this T20 world cup, england were an equally good, if not better side, they jus lost one match to WI due to a D/L arrangement which baffled everybody..
