Umpires keep giving wrong decisions.. that's not in players' hands..

But your reasons 1., 2., 3. and 4. are the real reasons for our defeat... Lets admit it..

Thats fo sure instead of Murali Vijay they would have selected Uthappa or the future Captain Virat Kohli. Dhoni should come up the order he is ignoring himself & lack of self confidence. Billy Bowden should pay for his mistake & not Rohit Sharma.

Show your anger in Today's match. If Billy came to umpire then hit him while batting via ball. No one question you since you can hit the ball in any direction. Batsman must start to do this practice for arrogant and biased umpires like Billy

Senthil:

If our batsmen had that much control and talent where they could hit balls at will where they wanted them to go, I don't think the do or die situation of today would have arisen... :)

As for "arrogant and biased" umpiring, it keeps happening all the time... :)

Its just that you realise it when we lose. Otherwise its Dilshan who speaks out and we call him a "frustrated soul" coz they lost the series... :)

:) Thanks for telling us that this is the FIRST wrong decision in the history of cricket.

As for your retort, I was NOT referring to the past. I was commenting on Senthil's suggestion that our batsmen hit the ball so hard and so precisely that it should go and hit Billy Bowden. :)

As if they can do anything like this... :)

the reason why billy consult other umpire in the first place if he thought ball touched the bat or glove, because catch was taken high in the air, so no question of consulting other umpire.

It is indeed refreshing to note that the entire fortune of our team depends on ONE decision.... :)

By your logic Australia should have lost badly against Sri Lanka coz they had a real bad start...

Any idea why do you think Gambhir's low scoring or Pathan's ineffective performance or Yuvraj's lacklustre attitude was NOT the real cause of the defeat?

I am sure Cameron White would not have gestured to Billy Bowden as if he owns the bloke.... and I am sure Aussies wouldn't have made it as an excuse for their defeat.

Remember the Ashes that Aussies lost last year (which is much more precious to them than a T20 match)??
Remember the grounded catch Andrew Strauss claimed? Did you hear such a hoo-haa as we are witnessing on this forum?

Any more questions?

usually when batsman dont nick the ball, they just raise both the hands showing that he is clean. u muct have seen same thing done by Jayavardhane in previos match.
then he shud also be fined.
Rohit sharma actually did a good job by showing that it was his ankle touched and also requested umpire to reffer 3rd umpire.
that really costed a match. but everyone else who was watching on screen was sure that rohit was not out. so finally it was proved that UMPIRE and the SYSTEM is wrong. and ROHIT was RIGHT.
billlion fans r behind u ROHIT, if not arthritis suffering Billy bowden.

They do that BEFORE the decision is given.

Standing the ground AFTER the decision is given and also gesturing to call for a third umpire when there is no UDRS in place is something that Jayavardene didn't do..

And FYI, what really costed the match was Gambhir's stellar batting, Pathan's heroics and Yuvraj's mighty sixes - or lack thereof...

RICKY PONTING!!!
by jay jay on May 11, 2010 11:47 AM  | Hide replies

I guess you all forgot what transpired in the recently concluded IPL tournament, where our God sachin Tendulkar claimed a catch that clearly bounced in front of him. Did you all forget that catch where he hurt his fingers!!HMMM and Did you all forget how sachin stood after nicking a ball to keep dhoni in the IPL finals.. common guys do not talk like our indian team is made of all saints or did you forget the recent antics of sreesanth in the recently concluded.I remember dhoni claiming a bounced catch in england when india toured england last time.I do not think it is ever fair to talk ill of one of the greatest captain of modern era ,Ricky Ponting .. Show some respect to Ricky Ponting.. His greatness is unmatched .. I say this becuase not only he was part of a great team that was acquired from mark taylor and steve waugh but also he has built his own team . He has moved on from the hayden, warne, mcgrath, gilly, langer ,martin, lee , stuart clark, bracken . Today he has a team which he can call his own and very soon he is gonna hand it over to Micheal clarke. Fellows being part of a great team is onething but to be able to rebuild a team is a different ball game altogether. Ricky is the only captain to have achieved this monumental feat . He is a competitor to the core and a wonderful batsman who has made the pull short his own.

i have been hearing Australia best team for many many years and we can give credit to the way they build their team from junior level but there is nothing like good captain or bad captain with such a great team. We can only compare if for example any new captain takes over and make a mess of that team, but that team is too good for that. Even Ashish Nehra or Zaheer captain that team will win if they do not bowl and captain.

I have followed australian cricket too. captaincy is not a child's sport. Not anybody can become a captain if that was the case then didn't sachin tendulkar excel when he was given this pretigious role .. why talk abt sachin, lara wasn't a great captain either .. Arjuna ranatunga was a great captain .. captaincy takes special skills and speciail attitude. I don't think just anybody can become a captain .

Upto a point captaincy is good or bad but you can not judge any australian captain because there team is simply the best does not mean it is the best because of captain.
Captaincy can be felt when a team does transition from bad or worse to good.
So what i mean is when the team is too good captaincy is rarely tested, so it is bad to comment like Lara, Andy Flower, Imran, N Hussain, Shakib Hasan, Pollock etc are inferior in captain than Aus captains.
Yes you can say Aus team is by far the best compared to other teams.

What i mean to say that umpire giving out since he surely thought Rohit Sharma was out is ok.
But why fine Rohit Sharma when he just suggest that he is hit on arm and never even shaking his head or showing anger.

its about respecting the umpires decision. Not every decision is correct as they are human but as players your should respect the ump decision.

Regardless of whether rohit was given in or out india would still have lost the match.

When technilogy is present why not use it. WHen match is so crucial even one wide ball decision changes the match. These people always fine Indian crciketors. They do not have guts to fine Australians. ICI enjoy our players have lot of money. You can beg instead of fine. You wil get more

Tripathi:

When did you find out that Umpire Decision Referral System was applicable to the T20 World Cup? :)

Please also note that ALL matches are crucial. Not using third umpire for catches is still applicable to all matches... and its applicable to all teams... So what's the grouse here?
