Picasso: When you jump from one method to the other there may be a discontinuity!
If you want to consider a match Minimum of 10 overs should be played by each team. Less than that.. any formula will not work. one day it might work other day it craps.. If you really want to get a result of a rain hit match.. then Super Over is the only better and evenly placed option for both teams. 5 overs 6 overs is looks like playing a gully cricket i think.

even the present super over option sucks! Ideally I would like to see a foot ball like situation - wherein 6 ball are delivered by six different bowlers to 6 difft batsmen! And the team that score highest vis-a-vis wickets wins!!

ideally the teams would have to exchange the bowling order sheet and the batsmen taking strike before the commencement of a super over!
T20 format to be changed to permit any batsman to play only 24 balls and he retires when he is out or at the end of 24 balls. that should speed up the game!
but he ai'nt smart enough when u compare to Jayadevan! Unfortunately JAYADEVAN comes from a "third world uncultured country" to which I belong too!! So the ICC and the goras would not care!! Sunny Gavaskar was the lone voice to lend his support to Jayadevan!! Rest of the ICC favored the D/L rule which is ridiculous even in rain affected 50/50 games!! Remember SA having to score 21 runs off the last ball!!

when the MCC can make new rules on catches etc! Why cant they atleast learn to review this D/L rule and compare it with VJD's formula - unless its racism to the front! Totally unscientific approach!

ooops, u r right! It used to be 22 of 13 and then 21 of one ball before D/L system came into place!! But now I think, like Collingwood said, D/L needs to be reviewed in favor of something more scientific and more broad based and more realistic for a person watching the game! Ideally, I would like to see the intervention of a new rule like chucking out wickets as they chuck out overs (especially key powerplay overs are lost for a side batting second!!)! If a side batting second loses 5 power play overs, they also need to be chucked out of atleast 2 wickets!!

I am sorry, oops u r right!
It was 22 out of 13 and then 21 off one ball for SA to win!! That's how they devised the D/L system after that incident! But I guess, D/L needs a overhaul and proper review too! Ideally, in T20 when a side is batting second, and rain intervenes, the Powerplay overs are cut down and I was'nt happy in some cases and felt it was unfair!! especially for teams like Zimbabwe, Ireland, Bangladesh who rely on power play overs with no real batting depth after No.5!! For India u can imagine even Bhajji and Zaheer to slog! So inexperienced teams stand to benefit by having few more power play overs in the beginning of the game! Could you arrive at some mutually agreeable offer on the power play situation too??
