Why Sachin Declined WADA
by thomas on Mar 30, 2010 02:24 PM  | Hide replies

Why did Sachin plead to BCCI to force ICC in not following WADA guidelines on Dope test?
Doping in cricket is linked to playing longer and scoring more runs.

because you dimwit , they have very limited amount of personal life. Also Dimwit, if you take drugs etc it will remain in your body for months.
This was primarily enforced for athletes in track and field events and other solo events. They would basically train away from public eye for months and come back stronger , faster and without any trace of performance enchancers in their bodies. Compare that to cricketers who train together in a known location 12 months a year, and they play cricket 10 months a year.

Also dimwit, this country is not terrorist free. Their personal lives are ar stake if information about their whereabouts is somehow disclosed to terrorists / mafia etc. And we all know how corrupt this country is.

Also , every one in the team objected and just not sachin.

it took so long to provide some out of context reasons-It is politically better to say that you dont abide by the whereabout clause than to say I dont want to let you know my whereabout so that I can be tested. Why do other athletes around the world abide by that clause?

Re: Re: Re: Why Sachin Declined WADA

So what ? Is there a deadline to provide an appropriate response ?

Anyways Dimwit, let me simplify it. IF you are a 5th grade dropout , do let me know. I will try to write in even more plain english.

The WADA clause was introduced primarily for athletes that performed in individual / Track and field events. Basically they used to train in some private location for 6-10 months. Now since 6 months is good time for the enhancement drugs to disappear from Radar , WADA clause was introduced.

Our crickteers train together in a KNOWN location all the time. The only time they are away is for the 1-2 months of off season.
Now, its not practical for people to provide information to wada clause, when it doesn't make sense holding it in cricket. Any form of drugs is tracable for up to 6 months.
Also, since they live in India, their personal life is under risk from terrorists /media people and other such pests.
This aint Europe/ America where in the normal celebrity doesn't face threat from terrorists/ mafia etc.

Would you like to provide details of your whereabouts for the entire year? Once you provide , you would actually have to ensure that you are there at that time.

That was the rule set for athletes in track /field events --- IT DOES NOT MEAN IT HAS TO BE APPLIED TO CRICKETERS AS WELL.

But ofcourse you are the schmuck who thinks , if its white its right

Yes you are right. In IPL, he allows his runs to be added to MI's total. When playing for India, his runs remain his own and do not add to India's team total!!!!

recall the childish behavior when dravid declared the innings at Sachin on 194.
Also in the 200 ODI innings, he scored last 12 runs in singles (death overs) and Dhoni not trusting him to have strike.
Real sports lovers look into these details and not jump over records and figures- Records in just 10 countries .

What logic are you talking about Thomas?
Man he has won 60 MOM awards and if you don't know they are given to the man who is considered the best performer in that match! No one is near to equal this record. In WC 2003 he made India through to final almost single handedly, scoring 674 runs. He was the top scorer almost in all matches for India.
In 1996, he guided India through to semifinals and in semifinal he made 60 runs but rest failed to capitalize the start he gave them.
It's his fault that india couldn't won the WC but India failed to won a world cup as a team. We are waching cricket just because of Sachin, mind it!

Its pleasing for cricket.
Great players & winners like sachin, kumble,Warne, Gilly etc team at top.
Equally pleasing to see useless, politician, overrated, overhyped people like dhobi, yuvi, dada, SRK, priety team at bottom of table.
Finally cricket & talent is winner.
I hope this trend continue for betterment of cricket.
All dhobi/SRK/Dada/preity/yuvi fans hiding behind toilet.

OLD IS GOLD... OLD GOES FOR GOLD ONLY ???
by Balaji H on Mar 30, 2010 01:52 PM

Well, every newspaper and sports website today is full of praises for our old heroes. No doubt, they are proving their worth - in IPL III - once again. MI is rallying behind Sachin to conquer new heights and are on top of the table today. When Sachin is in such a form, no other team can afford to have a peaceful night's sleep. On the other hand, I am pained by his decision not to play for Team India in T20 World cup. Given this form, he can certainly play a major role in TI reclaiming T20 WC. Though every cricket following Indian respects his decision not to play in T20 WC, its natural for us to question his rationale. Before the first T20 WC, he was not in form and when he said that he wants young blood to take over the T20 format, we respected his decision and his maturity. But now, its necessary to take a holistic view of the situation. We know that he's been skipping matches with an aim to rock in the in next year's WC. When he is ready to play 16 matches (IPL III - finals included) for MI, will it not feel better if he reconsiders his decision not to play in T20 WC ? BCCI should make a request to Sachin to reconsider his decision and make him play for Team India in T20 WC. Well, there is nothing like if he plays in T20 WC too. "SACHIN ! TREAT US TO A DOUBLE TANGO !! "
