You know what I do not like about Ashihsh Nehra? He has the indecency to dress up like a vagabond wearing jeans, tee-shirt and tucking his glares over his head when calling on the President of Sri Lanka. Slightly less vagabondish was Gautam Gambhir. A meeting with a President of a country is a very formal matter and there must be solemnity about it. Why has nobody advised these uncouth guys that they are virtual ambassadors of India? And now the selection committee seems to recognise these vagabonds by choosing them in the team of fifteen. Let's pretend that these two arrogant fellows do not mean what they did. I cannot understand how Nehra can find a place in the team because he has no record to show nor has he inspired any confidence to the team. Ad then we have Rohit Sharma who attracts more words of praise from all but who has no performance to show ever. If potential was the only criteria, do guys like Virat Kohli, Manish Pandey, Saurabh Tiwari or micro-Hayden, Parthiv Patel, have anything less than Rohit Sharma? Finally, it will be good if all of us stop praising Yuvraj Singh too much. If page-3 snippets are to be believed, this guy is more in the news for being linked with new girls after discarding the previous ones. He shows us glimpses of his potential once in a way. How can that be enough? No, Mr. Srikant, you have erred in selecting these three players. I have a gut feeling that we won't be anywhere in the top four. Sorry, Sir, you have failed. Keshavamurthy

Dear Rediff, Can you mention who has got this page written...u guys are just creating a stunt to post such message...but i will be great if you mention the author for this page...let us check his credibility first...
what a pity- this is how the team goes like- Nehra-always patient-wat he can do? vinay-should not have been-too early!!! chawla-picked because of preity's recomendation gambhir-already injured dhoni-not recovered bhajji-useless player yuvi-only hope-not in touch viru-only hope rohit-dont know why he is in ishant-dont know why he is out yusuf-never performs in big stage robin-should be in the side pandey-should be picked kartik-substitute praveen-cannot catch even hens raina-other hope zaheer-some hope
With this, we can judge how our team will perform. No surprises even if we lose to Afghan team and return. Dont forget-Afhan team is not playing IPL!!!

Do not criticize for the sake of criticizing only. Please try to understand & accept that present selection, headed by Kris, are fully competent to select the best possible team, based on their vast experiance & deep knowledge of cricket.

a fully competent person cannot select a team which is not fully fit. by the way im not here for just criticizing..i'd be happy if the team performs well, but for that u need to select the right team. The present team is so volatile that even a minnow like Afghanistan can beat on a given day! also dont forget some of the good players in Aus,SA,NZ,Eng are not playing so called IPL and they will be coming with full loaded guns!!
It really sprised me the inclusion of Nehra, and Chawla,After Following the IPL3 i personally feel India Got Much Better Tallent...than any other country...but they need the backup...Why Saatesh,Murli Vijay, Tiwary,And Irfan were not considered...
Praveen Kumar is very lucky to be in the team. Barring for his hatrick in the ongoing IPL, he has no commendable performance to his name. Instead Ishant Sharma / Balaji, would have been an ideal choice, for a frontline right handed bowler.

P.Chawla,A.Nehra and R.Sharma are more lucky! Tiwari,Kholi,A. Mishra and Rayudu have played much better.
manish pandey and robin uthappa shud've been included in the team!!! i don't understand the logic of keeping manish pandey away from selection for indian team each time!! there must be some conspiracy behind this!!
y they selected injured players like gauti, out of form yuvi, nehra, rohit, chawla, bhajji too not in good form!!!
they should have considered the current form of players!! krish always prefers only tamil nadu players!! thank god he didnt select m vijay, badrinath or ashwin!!

It is obvious that the selectors have compromised the interest of the nation to please certain vested interests so that the selectors can hold on to their seats , or may be, money has been exchanged. Srikant, as the Chairman, is guilty of leading this compromise move in his own personal interest. OR, he is just too lazy to exert himself to develop some good criteria for rejection and selection. Some inexperienced names will get knocked out by rejection criteria. And, some names are bound to get knocked out by the selection criteria. This entire committee is corrupt, or disorganised, or just too damn lazy to exert itself. You cannot omit names like Sachin Tendulkar, Amit Mishra, Virat Kohli, Murali Kartik and then boast that you have selected the best team. And inclusion of Vinay Kumar who has no track record is highly questionable. Somebody has gone well out of the way to please somebody. There are far better players than Piyush Chawla and Rohit Sharma. Srikant, you cannot withstand the test of audit. We are not fans of anybody. But we see drastic short cuts or laziness or lack of management inputs or plain damn corruption.

any how the team is going to return drubbed. Be happy the TN players have saved their respect.
Selectors have done a credible job in selecting this squad. It aught to be remembered that IPL cannot be the sole criteria/platform to be the basis for National selection. I,once again, congratulate the selectors for the well balanced team.

yes.Robin must have been included, considering the quality of clean hitting, in the recent four matches. Most of his sixers were hit at the mid of the bat indicating that he is sighting the ball.Considering his last years performance, it is evident that this youngster must have worked very hard to attain this present form, which is easily one of the top four batsmen of our side at the moment.not taking him in the side will cost india dearly.may be if there is a possibility of rethink.....mm consider. He can win matches, and ofcourse Robin should stay of life and party less to retain this form
