Indian Talent
by Jamshed Bhai on Mar 24, 2010 01:59 PM  | Hide replies

Lot of people are saying that our own IPL is just tamasha and nothing else, but still i will say atleast this tournament is giving the chance to some young talents to come up show thier talent in front of huge audience, few years how many of us knows about manish pandey, raydu, surabh tiwari ojha dogra and others.sachin is doing very nice sending our own boys top of the order in order to give them confidence, see i dont enjoy wathing hayden makix sixes and four but when tiwari and uthappa type of own boys hitting some international player it gives immense pleasure. please BCCI give these boys some chance as they are future jewels.

sorry....20-20 is an entertainment version of cricket..it's one dimensional, batsmen oriented game...not a platform for measuring talent of a player....most of these so called young talents cant play 5 good overs of dayle styern on a good pacy pitch in a test match...it's allways domestic cricket which grooms quality players ...not 20-20...it's a hit n run game that's all

A LEFT HANDED DHONI ?
by damodaran mohan on Mar 24, 2010 01:33 PM

One young cricketer whom the selectors will find it difficult to ignore will be s/Tiwary. His level of confidence and the stamp of authority are what separate him from other young talents we have seen so far in IPL.Further the punch and power in his shots resembles Dhoni’s.He looks to be a left handed Dhoni virtually and may be one day become India’s captain also.Other youngsters who have made impression are r/utthappa and manis Pandy.Besides, a senior who is also bowling very well is the left arm spinner Murali karthik.

If There is Sri kanth then might be no option for new find Saurav Tiwary..i think we got new DHONI.
Badri,Murli are saved by Srikant without any performance on regional based..else saurav will not get a chance might be Srikant, Murli, Badri very soon will be kick out from all format of game.
Saurav tumahara talent not will be wasted..Saurav T. u r the great player.

I fully agree. It is amazing why players like Sourab, Uthapa, Manish Pandey, Dogra,Jhunjhunwala,Manoj Tiwary, C Pujara, Rayudu etc are ignored whereas the likes of Badri and Murali get top most preference. While Badri and Murali are older than all these youngsters, their performance for CSK is abysmal. I hope the selectors (Krish Srikkanth) is watching.

All these players are flat pitch bullies....anyone can throw his bat in this very short version of game....but the real test for talent is test cricket which tests players allround ability....these players have to learn a lot frm dravid on how to adapt to different format of the game....footwork, technic, temperament are required to play at highest level...just a bit of pace n bounce n movement, all these players struggle...such is the talent level at domestic cricket in india

And start straightening your game, loud mouth Tiwari! No selector is going to take you into ODI and Test teams watching your T20 performance!

domestic is important
by ajay shastri on Mar 24, 2010 11:27 AM  | Hide replies

if it is so, then How kapil dev, Sachin, ganguly, rahul dravid come in Indian Cricket Team , they have gone throw all Domestic cricket and get noticed (sooner or later) , giving importance to IPL ONLY doesn't make any
sense.

Ajay you leave in the Zamana of Kapil dev. Wake up man, its 2010 its the media attention and pubilicity is what is needed to get selected into national squad, and IPL is providing that to all youngsters. I am a Vivid fan of cricket but still I don't watch any Ranji matches because its boring..and no one has time to watch those laborious format of cricket, I guess even our selectors.

If you had seen this year's Ranji and Duleep trophy finals, I bet you'd have a different opinion.
